Unhappy I'm new to Lucid Dreaming. Need help.

I ran into lucid dreaming a while back and I've decide to learn. I started off by starting a dream journal. I understand that having a good dream recall is essential to become a lucid dream. My dream recall is poor, so I have been working on it for 2 months. In that time i have started to build my dream recall from nothing to remembering 6 to 8 dreams a week. Since last week I cant remember my dreams and I've been using the MILD technique from the start of my dream journal . Any tips that can help me regain my dream recall.

Has anything changed last week, like your sleeping schedule and such? Dream recall is kinda chaotic value and sometimes can change for smallest reasons or even unknown reasons, even best of the best sometimes run into dream recall dry spells. If something changed last week then try changing it back, if not, just keep trying and don't worry, your recall will be back.
Also do you wake up right from/after REM? If not, you could try that, maybe mantra: "I will wake up right after dream and i will remember it" or something like that, waking up right from/after the REM gives much more clear recall, thus it's easier to recall from there.

I set my alarm to wake me up 4 to 6 hours after my bed time. I figure out when I'm more likely to be in REM sleep by using 90 min. interval. I think the problem i have is that I wake up and focus on remembering the dream by laying still and closing my eyes but i drift back to sleep. I have to work on this. Thanks for the advice

Probably a sign that you should stop focusing on dream recall? At best it would make you remember your lucids better. Which is how many? Make sure you're not procrastinating here and that you have an attainable goal for dream recall or you will never get started with induction.

I have only remembered 4 lucid dreams. 2 of them I woke up because i started freaking out i had 12 fingers and 4 hands, shit freaked me out. Then i started to learn to remain calm and stabilize the dream. Maybe I have been procrastinating, I think i'll start focusing on achieving more lucid dreams.

Do you sleep with a TV on? I've found that falling asleep to sounds on TV (such as talking in most cases) can boost my dream content. Don't pay any attention to the TV sounds when falling asleep, just let yourself relax until you sleep. After you finally go to sleep, I think the sounds can help to keep you a little more awake than usual and also influence what happens in your dreams, which make it more memorable. Just something I found works for me.
