Essentially what you need to do is get yourself used to thinking about lucidity all the time and practice for when it happens. Look around yourself at odd times every day and stop and think - is this waking life or could it be a dream? Really wonder - there's no guarantee you're awake right now.

Now, do a couple of reality checks, followed by some form of stabilization. My preferred methods are the nosepinch and fingerpalm RCs followed by rubbing my hands over textures/surfaces in the dream as a stabilization technique. Each of these techniques reinforces the knowledge that you're dreaming and strengthens your lucidity and awareness. I'm trying to get myself used to the idea of tasting things in a dream as another stabilization technique - I was only able to do that one once so far but it was amazing.

But the only way these techniques can help you is if you get them deeply ingrained into your mid so that as soon as you notice you're dreaming you automatically remember them. The first time you pinch your nose shut and find you can still breathe it's incredible - you know absolutely anything is possible!!

So do your daytime practice consistently.
