Take for example normal dreaming. If you go to bed reminiscing about a subject, are stressed or obsessing over a topic, you will generally dream about it. The mind is like a gyro. Stop thinking and just RELAX so that when you do enter into sleep, everything is clear, your mind , your subconscious, your energy, everything is stable. Once you are able to do this, when you enter a dream, you should immediately be able to realize that you are in a dream because you are not being carried by the forces of your mind and body, which inherently distract you and derail you from your primary focus which should be vividness and lucidity.

You can of course still used intention based methods to induce lucidity, as I have in the past , with good results, but now, FOR ME, it's not possible. Too much hinges around success or failure and they all feel counter intuitive. Just over the past few days I have absolutely found a correlation between mental calmness and dream vividness. That's what i am finding is working for me best lately and over the course of years has pretty much always done the job for me. Inevitably if it doesn't feel right or it feels annoying or counter intuitive, don't do it.
I got to say that this... Got to be the best post I've read here on DV, about how to get lucid in dreams! I would like to claim that this text is the summarising-core of lucid dreaming in many levels. Really great summarising! I've actually read this before I was going to work, and it just made my day. This feels like the last piece in the puzzle for me to working on getting lucid every night, because you also seems to have enough experience to really claim what you say. With that I dont say that no one else could claim what they have achieved.
