I seem to always do reality checks and ADA when i have down time. So far this technique hasn't been effective for me and i think i know why. Dreams are very different rom reality. There is no time in a dream when you are doing nothing. The story line of a dream seems to keep the dreamer constantly busy. I am never sitting down or bored in a dream which is when i usually do reality checks. I think it would be more effective to do reality checks while you are busy or concentrating. For example having a conversation with some one, playing sports, trying to solve a problem, or if something out of the ordinary happens. It is important to do the reality checks in the moment. Not when you are reflecting on something that just happened because in a dream you don't have time to reflect because new problems ideas and stimulation are always happening. If you are in a situation where you absolutely can't do reality checks. Then a least train your brain to question you are dreaming during these times and make a mental note o do them right after. Doing reality checks and all day awareness when you are using your brain and reacting to situations is going to be more difficult. But i think this is the reason why most people don't have lucid dreams. It is because they are too busy to even question that they are dreaming. I hope i explained this well enough... Does anyone else think this makes sense? I'm sure some people do this naturally but it's never really described in any tutorials I've seen. |
