PILD - Paper Induced Lucid Dream

So I was reading someones dream and they found out they were dreaming by looking at a piece of paper they wrote on before bed and saw it had something different? Would this be a good induction technique?

That person became lucid because he had enough awareness to realize that. He most likely practiced daytime awareness, RCs and mantras. One of his RCs could have been looking at text and checking if it changes when looking away and back.

So his LD, which sounds like a DILD, was induced by all that above. Looking at text is not an induction technique, just a Reality check, which is part of practicing for a LD.

If I may, I really recommend that you look into some solid, basic inductions. Once you gain enough experience, you will be able to do minor changes to them to make them work for you the best.

The most important thing when it comes to lucid dreaming is that you change your belief and expectations about the induction itself.
As a beginner you probably think that you need some special technique in order to lucid dream.
But the truth is that you can just fall asleep without doing anything and get a lucid dream if you just believed that it was easy.

Of course as a beginner that is not an easy thing to do, so what you need is some metaphor for that belief and that is a technique.

A technique is just the training wheels, when you are more experienced you can let go of the technique and just do it.

It might seem contra-productive for you to know this because then a technique, in a logical way, is just nonsense.

And yeah that is true however it's often necessary for us to get that belief.

So you see the technique only works as the stick your parents hold to help you get a feel of the balance needed in order to ride a bike, which you use until you learn to find that balance on your own.

So a good induction technique is the one that gives you the belief that you can succeed.

So my answer is: If YOU believe it will be a good technique then it will be.

Also feel free to come up with your own techniques and experiment with different theories.

However in the very beggining I would suggest that you try out the basics because those will give you a sense of what direction you want to go in with your practise.

      Good luck!
