      speaking to dream characters

whenever i try to talk to the characters in my dreams they always seem to ignore me. if they do respond it's usually with something that either totally grabs my attention, and causes me to lose lucidity, or it's something that makes absolutely no sense. if i ever mention that they are in my dream, they never believe me, of course, and i have trouble finding ways to get them to talk to me.

what kinds of conversations have you with dream characters? also, does anyone have any advice for successfully getting dream characters to spit out some useful information?

Now you said it....i realise i hardly talk to those DCs. They also don't really bother talking to me or they just talk among themselves. Even if they did talk to me, I ignore them. Hm...i wonder why. But i always hang around and play with them.

I've had a lot of conversations with dream characters, but I cant remember even 10% of what they said. ... What I remember usually doesnt make sense or is false in real life.

Some dream characters are very charismatic and have a lot to say while others completely ignore me...

Few times I spoke to a DC that seemed different and asked them for their real life info, such as email or something... but even if I remembered the stuff they said, it was fake.

Few times I caught DCs bullshitting and they turned away and fled. I felt like killing those mofos for wasting my time...

I have had 2 or 3 memorable conversations with DCs in LDs. One time my mom was driving in the car with me when I became lucid and I looked her in the eyes and told her "This is a dream, you are in my dream right now." She glowered at me as if offended and said "No." I tried telling her again, but then things shifted.

Another time I was flying around when I spotted my cousin in a barnyard (i dunno why) below, so I flew down there and I told him it was a dream and he laughed and said "No, it's not." So then I asked "What time is it?" But as I was speaking it, he would echo everything I said almost the exact time I said it. So I had to repeat it three times until he shut up and actually listened. The number 3:30 appeared in my thoughts, and then immediately after he mumbled "thr thre" and I said "WHAT?" And again he said it and I audibly heard him say "3:30". He then left after that, and I couldn't get him to stay. I lost lucidity briefly then I woke up. After I woke up I looked at the clock and it said 3:37. Not 3:30, but still close enough to cause me to chuckle then go back to sleep.
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.

I think alot of people have the same problem. I know I do. Most of my DCs (in my LDs) are sort of like empty shells of people...and when I make a point to talk to them nothing really comes of it. Though I have met a few interesting people while lucid. These "archetypes" seem to be there for a reason, if you allow yourself to open up to them.

Other people say that their DCs are extremely dynamic, and even disrupting...so they just end up killing them or whatever. I've never had to do anything like that. I'm not sure what causes this. Maybe it has to do with the individual and whatever is going on in their life at the time. Crazy DCs might represent some sort of inner struggle/turmoil...just a thought.

      DC

In real life, when you see a person, you expect them to do what? Nothing but the usual... walk, sit, talk to another person. If you talk to a strange person on the street, the outcome can be infinity, from a kind answer to an insult... and it is always a mistery.

So in a Dream, when you face a DC, you expect them to talk something umpredictable, and because you are the one who puts words in their mouths, we have a conflict: How to say to yourself something impredictable?

Try to talk to yourself while awake and make questions and let your mind answer them. You will see that the outcome is most like common sense, and sometimes if a higher intelligence were talking to you:

Eg. May I eat junk food? Mindanswer: No, it is bad for your health...

      And so on...

I wonder why DCs always seem to hate it when you say that you're dreaming? I heard this happening a lot and it seems like a common event between all lucid dreamers. You'd say to a DC, "I'm dreaming, " or "you're all fake because I'm in a dream," and they'd prove it wrong or hate you. I mean, I'd hate it too if somebody came up to me and said I was fake, but then that means DCs have feelings, which is weird since they're all in your head.

Maybe You have Crashed their Party...........or maybe they are all fragments of You anyways.

They obviously have no feelings, they're just part of your sub-conscious, they're just your feelings mirrored in your sub-conscious.

Please don't necropost. Necroposting is posting in old threads which haven't been active for years especially if OP haven't been active as well, it's better to start a new thread in those cases.
