Question on Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming

In the book "Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge, he lists a technique for using dream signs to become lucid; it as follows.

      CATALOGING YOUR DREAMSIGNS

What I'm confused with the fifth step which says "Make a habit of examining your daily life for events that fit under your dreamsign category. For instance, if your target category us action, study how you, othr people, animals, objects and machines move and act. Become thoroughly familiar with the way things are in waking life."

I'm confused with that because my target category is 'context' and I really don't know how to study context, or even know what that means.

Ok context dream sign is all about finding oneself in unusual or impossible situations.

So to study "context" in your waking life, pay attention to what situations are usual for you, and what situations you find yourself in.

For example: I am a mother, who works full time, and today was a Sunday. Some usual situations for me on a Sunday include spending time at home and at church, spending time with kids, going to a store, possibly going to a museum on some Sundays, reading books, etc. yesterday we went to see a movie in a movie theatre with the kids. Now that is something that we rarely do, so if I were paying special attention to context, I would think: that's unusual, let's reality check. Now even though it was unusual it was not impossible. If I found myself riding a motorcycle, that would be seething that I just do not do, and so if I were paying attention to contexts that are usual for me, riding a motorcycle should start alarm bells. Even though riding a motorcycle is not impossible for human beings, for other people, for me however it is so unlikely that really it is impossible in waking life.

      Does that make sense?

You may say I'm a dreamer.

95% of my dreams fit into the "context" category. It basically means that during your daily life, just randomly ask yourself "does this situation make sense? Is this something I am used to doing? Am I in a familiar environment?" etc. I do this maybe once an hour and it only takes a minute or two. Training your mind to recognize dream signs can be a very successful tool when learning the skill of lucid dreaming

      Good luck!

Context dreamsigns are any situations that appear unusual in some way.
It doesn't really have anything to do with anything supernatural, but more about ridiculous or strange situations.
Tim Post mentioned a pretty funny example in one of his videos on YouTube, about Bill Clinton delivering pizza to your front door - which, of course, is rather bizarre.
      Perfect context dreamsign!

I see, yes I could see where recognizing dream signs could be a nice tool! I usually do DEILD, so I thought it'd be nice to try practicing recognizing dream signs while I'm at it. Thank you very much!

My dream sign is 2 or more moons in the sky. However, sometimes I have had occasions when I have had a dream that was "too good to be true" and I have been so excited and started thinking, is it real or am I dreaming?
For example, I had a dream that a UFO had landed in my garden to take us away. I recognized 3 of them as my good friends (not real life friends, I just knew that I had always known them in another world/life) and was jumping with joy that we are finally going "home". Then I checked my hands and as hands never look like they do in real life I also realized that Damn!! SIX fingers on each hand!! I'm dreaming
So this particular dream sign is not great, it just feels like a disappointment.
