Reality Check: Staring Through Your Eyelids Tutorial

In a dream, can you see right through your eyelids? Of course, you can!

Here's a reality check you can do anywhere at any time:

      1. Close Your Eyes
      2. Try to look right through your closed eyelids.
      * If you are dreaming, you can still see with your eyelids closed.
      * If you are awake, you will see blackness, or maybe some slight blobby colors on a black background.

This RC is not full-proof, like every RC. Even in a dream, if you close your dream eyes, you may teleport, see blackness, alter the setting, or even wake up. Because of this, I suggest before you do this RC, you calm yourself, and sit down in the dream to prevent yourself from waking up from getting too excited and releasing adrenaline into your physical body. Then, do the RC, and tell yourself, "I am dreaming."

      Bloody genius, dude!

How about this - after closing the eyes, intentionally expect a different landscape. No need to see through...

Thanks. Great idea! If you change your landscape by closing your eyes, you must be dreaming! This could be a way to easily go back to the same place, let's say, your epic magical castle, every time you RC.

This sounds good, except I have been practicing seeing through my eyelids at night and can see better in my room with eyes shut rather than open. I have a full right in front of me view of my room. so it is something that can happen in reality and is known as a phenomenon. I simply think that it is your imagination filling in the gaps of what it knows is there, but it doesn't know that your eyes are shut. Kind of like:

That's really cool! Can you do that with other rooms?

Yes, but only at specific times. Like I just tried to do it, but failed. Very rarely, someone will move something in a room without my subc knowing, and that object won't be there, which kind of shows that it is not a "psychic thing", but a subconscious thing.

So you memorize the room, but can visualize with your eyes closed?

Can you create visions in front of you also?

Yes! This is actually the same time that I can play chess against subc, I can do any math or anything in my head quicker than on paper. It started like this, but then I heard a lot of people talking about the "seeing through eyelids" phenomenon which made.me think that it had to be the same idea, just imagining what is around you instead of whatever you want.

replying to BrandonBoss. whoa, i thought i was the only one who experienced this, it happens more often if i wake up in the middle of the night and i am slightly sleepy and then its like i can REALLY see the room with my eyes closed. its interesting that this is actually a thing your brain just does to fill in the gaps.

and anyways to reply to the OP, this sounds like a really cool RC but it would have to be one i would have to do first a few times in a dream to make sure my mind knows and feels the difference. then once i am familiar with my ability to see through my eyelids in the dreams, i can use this as a RC. but i think i would have to use this one along with at least one other RC just to be sure. i know seeing through your eyelids should be a surefire way of knowing your dreaming but i like to be safe and check. my favorite RC is plugging my nose and trying to breathe. i do that one along with what i call "double take" which is doing a double take when looking at text or clocks or really anything with detail. but i can use this one too once i am confident of its reliability.

Yes, I agree. The more reality checks, the better. Personally, every single reality check failed me at one time or another!

      Hi guys,
sorry for reviving the thread. Haven't been around for a whiiile.

I also experience seeing through my eyelids. When i do usually the picture is black and white and relatively clear. But i think i am not dreaming when this happens. As when it does i want to be sure it actually happens, so i move my arms for example and see them through my eyelids moving. Also i move my head so i can see if i can see the room all around. The weird thing is that sometimes it seems i can see not only though my eyelids but also through some matter. Well, for example i need to rest from my computer work so i put my hand on the table and with my third eye facing the back of the wrist. That way i calm down and enter a certain state where i can see my feet under the table and i can see them move when i do a check by moving them. I kind of know i'm not really dreaming it coz i listen to music to keep track of the time which i want to rest. My tracks are quite lengthy so 1-2 songs is usually enough
