I haven't had a lucid dream in a long time.

I don't even remember when my last lucid dream was, but I miss having them. Any tips on getting them? I've read things like thinking about stuff as you start to fall asleep, but I'm always asleep before I can realize I am. I also don't know how to check if I'm dreaming or not. What are your methods?

      Hey fawn, welcome to DreamViews

There are a lot of good tutorials, tips, and methods on here. I'd recommended the DILD (Dream Initiated/Induced Lucid Dream) technique, throughout the day you examine your surroundings, increase your awareness, do reality checks, and question whether you're dreaming. Have a look at the link AstralMango posted, there's a lot of other induction methods you might find work better for you.

      Welcome

Let me know if you have any questions~ ^^

I know exactly how you feel (see my signature below). When you start having them again, I would recommend writing them down in a journal, or typing them in an electronic format. Then you can go back and review them for future motivation.

I agree with AstralMango and Mismagius, there is a lot of information on this site you can review. Also, if you would prefer to purchase a book "Are You Dreaming?: Exploring Lucid Dreams: A Comprehensive Guide" by Daniel Love is excellent.
