Question Why did I dream about me lucid dreaming?

Ok, this has happened to me before and it has happened to me again. I remember in the dream I woke up in some school bus but for some reason, I was lucid in that dream and tried to stay calm. When the dream passed, I woke up but in my room but something felt wrong so I figured I was dreaming about me having a lucid dream. Does anyone know why this can occur? Does this mean that I am close to being able to lucid dream?

Well, if you realized that you were dreaming, then you were in fact lucid.

I've had over a dozen of those. If we think about lucid dreaming a lot, it's not so strange if we have non-lucid dreams where the plot is about lucidity.
They're usually pretty cool, but I don't know what to make of them in terms of achieving actual lucidity. Hopefully it means we're getting closer - that our brains are adjusting to it or something -, but I can't say for sure.
      Main LD goals:
      - Futuristic/sci-fi/cyberpunk big city
      - Fantasy role-playing game
      - Flight and other super powers
      - Use lucid dreaming as a study-aid
      - Personal development, inner peace etc

I thought this pretty much. It is possible to have a dream where you are lucid with little to no control. Even vividness can be low. It can be pretty much a normal dream, but since you Knew it as a dream. I'ts called a lucid dream.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong here, since I am but a humble beginner with little experience

At first I had dreams where I was upset because I couldn't make myself lucid. I found those frustrating and amusing when I woke up.

Sadly, you could be wrong, MrPriority.

It is more than possible to dream about being lucid while still completely lacking any waking-life self-awareness; you don't truly know you are dreaming, but rather a DC "You" is going through the motions of being lucid. This is particularly true for people who give LD'ing a lot of thought, and thus build up lots of day residue that includes being lucid.

I personally have had many dreams about being lucid, to the point where I began calling them "false lucids." Some of them have been quite elaborate, including things like flying and having long discussions with other DC's about how this was all a dream.

There is a literally real difference between dreaming that you are self-aware in your dream, and actually knowing it. It is difficult to describe, but when you are truly lucid you will always spot that difference!

I go on a bit more about this in an old (and fairly controversial) thread called A Treatise on Proof; you might want to check it out.

I had a dream about a week ago where I was actually busy explaining to someone what awareness is and wasn't aware at all, these dreams can be the most annoying.

In one of my dreams this week, I was chatting with one of my friends, when I fell asleep in the dream. And in the dream in the dream, I became lucid, then I woke up on the "first level" and told my friend that I'd just had a lucid dream...
