      Getting Lucid!

      Hi there!

Just joined and have extremely interested in lucid dreaming for quite a while.

I haven't managed it yet but last night in a dream I asked myself "Is this a dream?". I looked arounf the field I was in which is close to my house and looked at the trees, sky, etc. and then said "No, this is all real, I'm not dreaming".

Any suggestions that would help me are much appreciated, thanks in advance.

      Dave.

So you didn't do any RC in the dream? That would be a good start, to do a RC when questioning reality.

No I didn't, obviously should have. There was no light switch or mirror! What would you suggest as the best reality check?

There are many reality checks that you can use:
      - Breathe - Can you hold your nose and mouth shut and breathe?
      - Jump - When you jump, do you float back down?
      - Read - Can you read a sentence twice without it changing?
      - Look - Is your vision clearer or blurrier than normal?
      - Hand - Can you push hand through a solid surface?
      - Time - Can you read a clock face or digital watch?
      - Fly - Can you will yourself to fly or hover above the ground?
      - Palms - Do the palms of your hands look normal close-up?
      - Mirrors - Does your reflection look normal in the mirror?
      - Math - Can you add up two numbers for a correct answer?

Some stuff from World Of The Lucid Dreaming website
There are surely even more reality checks
But those are one of most popular ones i guess.

Yet remember to be mindful when practicing reality checks
You don't want them to be mindless habit that you would do automaticly without thinking or questioning legitly whether it's dream or reality.

Don't think there is any best RC really.
The most commonly used wouldb e nose-pinch RC and finger-count RC since you have everything you need at all times (unless you don't have a dream body, but eh).

Lack of body could also be used as Dream Sign in that case
