Good luck to all of you! I would join in but probably not fair as I've been at this for 4 years (had a lucid last night).... I think you all are probably more like where I was a couple years ago. I would just say don't get discouraged and have fun. Also, I think some LDers work well with a little pressure like this challenge, and some it is counter productive for them, so experiment and see...keep learning to know yourself which is key.

Somewhat sucessfull. I tried about 3 times last night and in one dream I dreamed about becoming lucid. It happened with me putting a sticker on my arm and if it was there later then I would be in a dream. Eventually I noticed it and said I was lucid. However I quickly lost lucidity. This all happened in a dream. Overall I think that it was a dream about becoming lucid. If anyone can tell me if I was in an actual LD then it would be very helpful.

      LD: maybe 1
It sounds like it might have been if you said you were lucid, but I've had dreams before where something similar happened and I wasn't. Anyways that's progress man, gj and keep it up!

You're welcome to join in man. I've also been LDing for a long time, I think going on 8 years now. I practice off and on, losing motivation sometimes. It's not something I'm proud of(stopping), and I plan to change that. That's my goal at least. I stopped lurking in an attempt to curve this habit.

      Day 4/5:
Not sleeping very long last night, I got tired pretty early. I decide to call it a day and get some much needed sleep. Right before I woke up, I had my first lucid of this challenge, which you can read in my dream journal if you're interested.

The dry spell has been broken, hurrah!

The lucid ended as soon as it began, but I'm happy. I think what got me lucid was the looking back 5-10 minutes into memory RC that I started using a few days ago. In the dream, the rocky hill I climbed up had turned into a regular hill a few minutes later when I needed to get back down.

I can't wait to try again tonight! I'm going to ramp up my RC's today, and try a wbtb.

      Day 1:

After 4,5 hours I woke up just before my alarm went off, I could get up this time, after a week of falling asleep after 1 minute. I stayed up for 40 minutes, then I went back to sleep, repeating my mantra.
Suddenly, I was walking in my room and was thinking "this could be a dream", did a reality check and now I was sure about it. Immediately after discovering it was a lucid, everything turned to grey and my lucid was gone, again. I've had 10 lucids, but can't pull of something longer than 4 seconds. I tried to DEILD after this, but that didn't work. I was hoping that my LD was longer ofcourse, but I'm already happy that I broke the dry spell.

      Attempts: 1

Congratulations! Even if it didn't last long, each one helps.
About your lucid: Have you tried any stabilization techniques, like touching the surface of something, or shouting something like lucidity times 1000?

      Day 5

      Yet another night of success!

I continued the 'what was I just doing?' RC yesterday, along with my usual nose reality check. I was performing them once every 20 minutes or so. Last night, I went to sleep, very tired. I woke up sometime during the night to take a leak, at which point I starting thinking about lucid dreaming. I woke up again, half asleep, thinking some kind of shadow creature was trying to get me. This woke me up completely, because of the scare. I went back to sleep again, having one of the best lucids I've ever had! I had perfect control and the dream was as vivid as it could get. I'm on such a nature high right now, it feels great!

      You were right!

      Day 5:

Woke up 2 times this night and the second time I really set the intention to have a lucid dream. It resulted in a nice and long lucid dream
I stabilized, tried to fly (only got a 'moon jump') and increased clarity

Unsucessfull. On top of not having a LD, I also woke up about 6 times last night. Once around 3, and the others about 10-20 minutes after each time waking up. I think that it may be my mantra that causes this because it's not the first time it happened. If anyone could tell me a good mantra to use for mild, then it would help a lot. My current one is "I will realize I'm dreaming."

Well, that's even the best part, I don't have the time for any stabilization. I know a lot about the theory behind lucid dreaming, but the long lucids just haven't appeared yet.

      Day 2:

Couldn't do WBTB due to testweek at school, I'm going to bed earlier tonight so I can do WBTB and sleep a lot .

      Attempts: 1
      LD: 1

PS, I won't stop with this challenge when I hit 30 days, I will keep doing this untill I got 30 attempts.

What i've been using is "I am aware, I am lucid". The thing with a mild mantra is, it's more about the intention to become lucid. You pick a phrase that you can anchor your intention too.

Most of my first lucids were short, and sometimes they still are. You'll get a good long one soon! Gl man. Also once the 30 days is up, I'll probably retake the challenge again and again. It's good for motivation.

Well, my recall was horrible last night. I did tons of RC's yesterday too! Oh well, the more you do it, the better right? I'll continue my RC's today, and go at it tonight with vigor. I'm definitely going to attempt a WBTB tonight.

      Day 6:

Another succes! Before I went to bed I drank some water and set an alarm just in case. I woke up after 5. 5 hours of sleep (just before my rem-phase)
I went to the bathroom and went back to bed immediately.

I used the mantra 'I will become lucid' and got a nice lucid dream again! They are becoming longer and longer, I can actually do things now because my first 13 Ld's were like 5 seconds (becoming lucid and waking up immediately).

      Didn't do many reality checks.

I have a question. Should I move around once I wake up for mild because I'm currently just laying in bed and trying the technique once I wake up.

      Day 4:

Woke up after 5 hours, read somethings on Dreamviews, and after 20 minutes I started with MILD. Had a 30 minutes WBTB. I didn't have any lucids, but my dreams weren't really usual dreams (for me). 1 Dream was really annoying, I had to go up some stairs, and some more stairs, but for some reason I just couldn't walk them normally, I just couldn't. Everytime I took a step on the stairs, I almost fell down, every. time. I've started doing the Gravity RC this week, but I think I need some more practice if I couldn't even recognize these awful gravity changes :p. I also woke up just after a dream, this is occuring to me quite a lot lately. So I tried to DEILD, when I had the feeling that the dream was finally being formed, the freaking church bells started making that noise that prevented me from my first DEILD...
But every practice and experience helps, so I'm still happy with this night .

I'd say get up and move around for about 5 minutes to awaken your critical faculty before heading back to sleep.

      Day 7

Had some work to complete, so i stayed up for about 30 hours, but when I finally did get to sleep I had vivid dream last night, and at one point, I found a card in the dream that had a crown on it and had 'Oneironaut' written across it. So I barely missed my chance to become lucid. I'm not too disappointed though, at least it's something! I'm going to make more of an effort to record my regular dreams for now on, and I've been steadily doing RC's everyday. Gonna try as hard as I can to get lucid tonight!

I don't know how I feel about this.
The bird breaks free of the egg.
      The egg is the world.
Who would to be born must first destroy a world.
