This sounds to me like a regular DILD. If you were already in a non-lucid dream and then remembered to do a RC (regardless if it failed or not) you almost completed a DILD. A MILD is a dream visualization method in which you preconcieve the dream you want before going to bed.

It sounds to me like you have a solid foundation for RC's and almost had a lucid! Keep at it and work on some other RCs such as checking the time, thinking backwards how you got there, pressing your tongue through your closed teeth. etc. and you will probably have many DILDs
