Ohhhh, how exciting! |

I've been mostly using a MILD and DILD technique, but have had little success with actual lucidity, so tonight I'm going to start trying WILDs! I've come close to them when I've tried before, but I've usually freaked out! |

Well, after tonight, about the only advice I can honestly offer is that you read through my DVA WILD class sometime soon, and take some time to settle into the notions of what is involved in a successful WILD dive... even if your WILD dive tonight is successful, I hope you will still check it out! |
|
Thanks for the bits of advice folks. My WILD dive tonight wasn't successful, as I kind of ended up rolling over and falling asleep naturally, but even so, when I stayed still I managed to experience a certain amount of muscle tensing, this odd feeling as if the darkness behind my eyelids was expanding and puddling, and some vague distoritions in the white noise of an electric heater I had going in the background, so it gives me confidence that I will manage it with some practice! |
|
Good luck if you decide to try again. Do keep in mind that you can try all the WILD techniques known to man, but if you wake up at the wrong time, all your effort will be in vain.. |

Tonight or morning? |

..Yeahh, reading a tutorial before attempting a new technique would help. |
|
Thanks! Yeah, since it was my first time trying I kind of just figured "Oh, WILD, that's that one where you lay really still"; since I'd already been practicing self-awareness quite successfully for about a month I figured I was set. Most likely not. =P I'm sure there'll be no harm in giving it a shot every few awakenings while I'm learning the ropes. Since my dreams have steadily been becoming more vivid and involved more things I consider dream signs more often, I'm quite confident that I should manage it at least during the coming month. |

I see that you're very motivated to have a lucid dream which is good as this can result in spontanious LDs on it's own. Like others already said it's best that you do WILDs after atleast 5 hours of sleep, think of normal sleep as you pouring gas into your car and WILD the key starting the car which will take you on an adventure. |
|
If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...
Thanks for the advice, LDMan! The DEILD sounds incredibly useful; I've found that since I've been going to bed earlier I often briefly wake up a few hours before I actually get up (this had never been the case before, and it's only really been happening much over the past couple of weeks) so hopefully once I've finished getting to grips with self-awareness I'll manage to do some dream-chaining. |
