It is a technique mainly used by those that are struggling with relying too heavily on techniques and not enough on feelings and awareness. Since they stop thinking about LDing as much, they lose their mental barriers, since their techniques had become mental barriers, they lose those as well. I wouldn't say that it makes people get better at lucid dreaming quickly, but it can help some people perform to the ability that was being held back. I talk about it on the link in my signature. I think it all depends on your own approach towards it. I feel that lucid dreaming shouldn't be anywhere as hard as people make it, its just dreaming, so thats why I decided to go this route. I focus on feelings and awareness alot, so at times its not always just me winging it. I also think about LDing alot too, that being said I am also getting back into self awareness because I liked it when half of my dreams every night were lucid haha. In the end it just comes down to what works for you as they all say.
