Head feels like it's on a gyroscope in LD's.

      Hey guys,

So I've had a couple more lucids lately, and a recurring trend I've noticed is the sensation that my head is on a gyroscope whenever I try to turn fast or sharply. Essentially, my POV gets thrown sideways for several seconds/indefinitely whenever I try to do so; it's like my head doesn't want to turn the way I want it to. An minor example can be seen in my latest DJ.

Is this yet another matter of immersion or stabilization? Has anyone else had this problem?

      Thanks,
      Jelly

Yup - sounds like me to a stabilization/immersion issue, like you said. Strange problem, but for a lot of problems like these, you really have to get rid of the doubts in your head and firmly state to yourself that you can, in fact, turn your head any way you want in your dreams. I've never had this issue, but a similar one, where my head would hardly be able to move. They were very strange and unstable lucid dreams, but as my control increased, I've had no more dreams like those.

      Good luck!

P.S. This may fit better into the General Lucidity forum

You're not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Just relax. Master the day. Then just keep doing that every day.

Never encountered this particular issue, but in the past when I was playing with dream control while lucid, I had a similar issue with one of the teleportation "techniques". I'm referring to the spinning one - it caused my get dizzy and even puke (in the lucid, which is weird since never had motion sickness in real life). I decided to stick with the falling asleep into the void as well as the blinking "techniques".

Anyway, I think that the issue is that the areas of the brain that control proprioception and balance aren't usually fully active (by default) when we dream. So the solution, as Shabby suggested, is to get more aware within the lucid (for example by stabilization) and realize that you're in full control since it's a dream - so you can activate these senses with your dream control (like you would increase vividness just by "wanting" / "ordering" it - same idea, different sense)

Could be a great thing. Use it as an opportunity to leave your body behind. Fly free, be the consciousness, man

Everyone has had some issues like this (going blind, not being able to fly, DCs not doing what we want). I also think they go away on their own or you address them in some way when the time comes. I think treating it like a problem makes it into a bigger problem.
