      Alternating Galantamine and Huperzine-A?

So, I've started delving into the world of supplements to enhance my lucid dreaming progress. So far, I've been using Galantamine and Choline Bitartrate 1-2 times a week, over the past 3 weeks, with some great success (I only had one instance that it didn't do much for me).

I'm wanting to work with supplements for awhile to help give me enough of a boost to give me a chance to develop some of the lucidity skills I've been struggling to develop. I intend to start phasing out the supplements after awhile, but I'm not sure when yet. However, I am worried about developing a resistance to a single supplement, and have been wondering if it would be worth it to buy a "backup" supplement in the form of Huperzine-A to switch out with the Galantamine now and again.

Obviously, I wouldn't take them together and at the same time, but has anyone tried this method? I've been digging around online but haven't found anything about whether it would be safe/effective to do. I'm thinking of using 1 supplement 2, maybe sometimes 3 times during 1 week, the other supplement on the next week, etc, to give them a chance to clear out of my system before continuing.

Edit: I just realized I should have put this in the Lucid Aids sub-forum. Apologies!

I have been using Galantamine and Huperzine A for a few years now and they made all the difference in the world. I went from having lucid dreams that were less than 5 minutes long to having 20 to 40 minutes long dreams. I also combine them with 600mg of Alpha GPC that really helps prolonging the dreams (This often produces dream chaining where I am kicked out of one lucid dream, only to enter another immediately after). Galantamine is difficult to get in Canada, which is why I started to use Huperzine A, which is also less expensive. I found that 400 mcg of Huperzine A does the same for me as 8 mg of Galantamine. I only use them on the weekend as to not create any resistance.

I go back and forth between them, but I never use them on consecutive days. I think that going back and forth is a good idea because you do get used to one after a while. I think that this is more a psychological thing and not resistance though. After a month of using Galantamine every Friday night, I then switch to Huperzine A and I get a very strong lucid dream. Keeping your mind guessing is the trick lol.

I combine Wake back to Bed with my supplements and I get a 90% success rate. I had 53 lucid dreams in 2017 by only trying on weekends. I also take a break now and then which is really needed at times. After a break I can then bounce back and have 4 lucid dreams on my first night back.

I’ve used both hyperzine A and galantamine and find galantamine seems to work a little better. I take it 1-2 x a week with at least 2 days between doses and it seems to work as well now as a year and a half ago when I started lucid dreaming. Alternating supplements seems like a good idea if both work for you.

Thanks for that, both of you! I'd been taking a break from the Galantamine for a couple weeks, since I had already started developing a resistance to it, but I took a dose (with the Choline Bitartrate) about a week and a half ago and had a couple WILDs, the second of which lasted a little bit longer than most of my lucids have, though no longer than my current records. I'm going to take it in the morning, probably. and try for another WILD, hopefully increasing my time even more. I'm still thinking about using the Huperzine to alternate, but money's been short lately so I may need to wait on that.
