Am I getting close?

In my dream last night I was staring at a 25 dollar bill. I remember thinking, "This looks odd. Do 25 dollar bills even exist?"

Sounds to me like you got very close. I have had something similar happen to me when I once had a false awakening and then looked at a digital clock near my bed and the time said "7:77" and I had a brief moment of thinking that was odd but dismissed it since I was also panicking that I was then late for class or whatever my morning routine was at the time. I'd say the more you think about odd yet almost mundane occurrences will allow you to recognize when they happen again and trigger an awareness of the situation and perhaps lucidity as well.

Yeah thats like a spark of your conscious mind becoming active in the dream state. Good job! I still get those from time to time, but somehow explain it to myself. Like once I looked out my back window and there was a huge pool. I was like, we have a pool? Oh, yeah, I guess so. Better not try to fly. I felt so silly when I woke up!
