      Trouble lucid dreaming with medication

My medication makes me sleep for 11 to 12 hours. I have trouble remembering to do techniques because I feel dopey. If I use a nicotine patch and B6 to counter the dopiness I find it really hard to go back to sleep after a WBTB. I had some luck with SSILD and Mild. With the SSILD I pushed my finger through my hand then woke up. With the Mild I had a few lucid dreams each week in this augusts and september then this month I tried about 10 times but failed. I'm thinking maybe VILD will work for me.

Hmm... I sort of thought someone would have responded to this...

If the medication still allows you to do day work (i.e., Reality Checks, setting intention), I would suggest you stick with MILD, or other techniques that induce DILD's.

This is because DILD techniques don't require much work while you are going to sleep (as opposed to WILD techniques, like SSILD or VILD), so the influence of the medication at bedtime should have a minimal effect. Also, taking more chemicals to counter the effects of your medication is, in my opinion, never a good idea, as it only tends to add new issues to your attempts rather than fixing them.

So MILD, being a DILD technique, might be the way for you to go. I know MILD has you doing some stuff at sleep time, but they should still be doable to some degree.

I hope that helped, and also hope that someone else might come on to offer you more advice; you've apparently posted during a very quiet time!
