I can’t for the life of me

Have lucid dreams anymore. Idk why. Unfortunately I have PTSD. I can’t seem to shake the scrambled nightmares and anxiety I feel in the morning.

My dreams are chopped up pictures of my past. I went thru the ringer in 05.

When I did have lucidity some where beautiful. Some where frightening and very surreal.

I can’t take things to obtain it anymore. I have to take medication for my psych illnesses. I hate my dreams. Their terrible fears that are loosed at night. My worst nightmares.

A lot could be said on this issue, but all I have to offer at the moment are these tidbits.

You don't take fish oil before bedtime, do you? Fish oil at that time is known to cause upsetting dreams.

In my experience, chamomile is good for inducing pleasant sleep (and pleasant dreams). It can probably not be used on a daily basis, but maybe 2-3 times per week.

As for regaining the ability to dream lucidly, you might want to take up meditation in the evening. It has been known to boost awareness to such an extent that lucidity comes much more frequently; mindfulness meditation would probably also have the benefit of lessening the PTSD.
So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

That’s very good advice. No fish oil. I do drink chamomile sometimes.

      Here’s my medication regimen.

Zyprexa 5mg for anxiety and psychosis.

Gabapentin 300 mg three times a day for anxiety.

Inderal. 80 mg ER. For blood pressure.

      Omeprazol. 20 mg for GERD.

      Valerian root. Sleep.

I’m seeing a new doc next month because the doc I have no doesn’t have the training and it’s not that I don’t like her, but the fact that all my records will be going to someone else who has a better perspective and can treat me better.

I have GAD, Panic disorder, ADD. MDD, w psychotic features.

OCD. Pure O type. PTSD. Insomnia too.

Did your lucid dreams stop when you started taking medication?

The Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) has been found useful for treating PTSD.
You might try that and see if it can help you ease off the meds so you can get back to having LDs again.
