      HIT (try this for me)

ok this only takes at most 30 mins and i want to know if it works for anyone other than me...

go lay down, (on your back) make sure theres no noise in the room and not too much light, now start breathing in and out focusing on how the air is passing through your throat and into your lungs (try to feel it flow all the way into your lungs) after doing this for a little while (until your thoughts are centered onto it and theres no random thoughts left) take a really deep breathe and slowly let it out, as your doing this focus on sinking into the bed a little bit, now breathe in and out lik normal focusing on sinking into the bed with every breathe out, after a few mins of this focusing totally on your body and the sensation of sinking into the bed shift your awareness to your throat

      (where the arrows are pointing)

after shifting your awareness there begin to focus on reaxing it now, (not your body just it) focus it more and more shifting all your focus towards making it sink into the pillow (dont move your muscles to make it sink but "feel" it sink) now let whatever happens happen as your doing this and you should (with me at least) begin to see random images, after about 30 secs of them with me their usually "there" enough for me to conciously change them and look at pictures from memories and stuff....

anyway i was wondering if anyone else could do this with the neck focus thing because this greatly decreases the time your laying in wait for fully formed images (whole process about 5 mins) the images come faster thus meaning you LD faster when they have been around long enough to form into dream scenery, I'm wondering if it works for anyone elso so if anyone asks i can tell them this easy technique knowing it works easily for most (or some) other than myself

EDIT: found this on it from Stephen LaBerge's "Eploring the World of Lucid Dreaming"
Yogic psychophysiology holds that our bodies contain “subtle centers of
awareness” called chakras. Seven in number, they are located throughout the body, from the
base of the spine to the top of the head. One of these, the throat chakra, is said to regulate sleep
and wakefulness. The degree of activation of the throat chakra is reputed to determine whether
      wakefulness, sleep, or dreaming occurs.[/b]

Does this work before I go to sleep, or is it an early morning wake up technique?

I'l try this tonight. I've tried similar techniques before and I got some light patterns and sound, I could hear the red hot chilli perpers as if they were playing all around me, I could hear the bass guitar in my right ear and the electric in my left. It was cool, I felt as if my mind had sank into the pillow and left my skull behind, that was weird but cool. I think I went to sleep then and had a non-lucid.

      And every night nothing happens.

Not really, heh. The method implies use of concentration and focus...and a lot of it. ¬¬

focusing on how the air is passing
      ...
until your thoughts are centered onto it and theres no random thoughts left
      ...
focus on sinking into the bed a little bit
      ...
      focus on reaxing it now
      ...
focus it more and more shifting all your focus
      [/b]
Considering I can't concentrate on anything for more than 10 seconds...ever, makes it pretty tough to do any of that, heh. Unfortunately.

How is the changing from focusing on you body sinking, to your throat sinking supposed to induce images?

im not really sure, but i think it has to do with what your eyes do when you begin to foces behind them, they kinda roll back or something, your focusing on relaxing something so that you dont fight the eyes movements

I tried i just for fun last night. I did not have any intentions about actually entering a dream. After like 30 secs or somthing, this powerful shaking (i think its known from WILDs) started to happen. This normally takes at least 5 mins for me to get to.
I think ill try it again to night to see if i could actually make it work...

Yes i've tried it and it works..Stephen Laberge talks about this spot while doing the MILD techinqe which is pretty much what your doing but focusing on the neck. this spot on the neck I think is 1 spot of like 47 on your body that your supposed to focus on to induce lucid dreaming. the Tibeatan Budists practiced this I think

I always do this when I fall asleep. Everytime I try to lucid, this is how I calm myself down/make my body fall asleep. Except for me, it isn't really a sinking feeling, it's more of a "set my body free" thing.

Never the less, it always gets me close to HI, ofcourse I can almost never get into a dream...

are you talking about the focusing on the neck or the relaxation? the whole tyhing im wondering is if this point on the body being focused on, not the whole thing about relaxing
