WILD attempts of a novice, any advice welcome!

Well I made the first attempt to regain the 1/3 of my life I lay in bed dead(that's what I call it)

Didn't go very well, but it's cool, it was my first time and I learned a lot...
-Like if you wake up early before your alarm clock goes off in the morning, just get up then and go back to sleep in an hour
-And DON'T GO ON MY SIDE, STAY ON BACK, even though it gets REALLY HARD (Body; LAY ON YOUR SIDE, NOWNOWNOWNOW)

Anyway here is a copy paste of my first WILD attempt journal describing what happened...
Do not remember any dreams, woke up a little too early, around 3 AM but should be ok. I surfed dreamviews and thought about lucid dreaming mostly, however I did make some eggs and toast just before the hour was up and ate that right before 5 AM.
First attempt at WILD was pretty bad, I for some reason woke up an hour early at 3 AM, and just stayed in bed until 4 AM when the alarm went off, then stayed up until 5 AM, so I actually was up for 2 hours, and I think I just got most 4 hours sleep because I woke up so early. When going into bed I made two attempts, did the heavy breathing thing, I noticed some unusual feelings in my body the first time I did it, like little hints of my body trying to go asleep, I think I got too excited cause my body did not go to sleep after that even though I tried to calm myself by telling myself it's ok. The second attempt didn't do much, just laying down meditating waiting for a body that wouldn't go to sleep. It was 6 AM now after those two attempts, I decided to just lay on my side and try to goto sleep, I went unconsciouss with no WILD.

*When I say lay on my back and breath heavy, I mean basically meditate like I usually would sitting down but laying on my back, keeping my mind focused(usually focusing on putting my body to sleep, that or focus on my breathing)

ANY ADVICE/POINTERS WOULD BE VERY WELCOME!

Well, you got some results (your body trying to go to sleep) but I guess it stopped becuase you realised it and got excited? I have the same thing...

yea the minute stuff that I usually don't feel started going on I got all excited and it inhibited it, just something practice will take away. It was cold and I didn't turn my heater on, I'm sure that didn't help the situation any

I wonder why getting excited does that to you, does it stay with you forever concerning that? Like even if you lucid dream every night for hours, if you feel one iota of excitement you immediately wake up? Or is this just a beginner thing that eventually goes away?

      I sure hope so.....

Its so annoying because when you realize it its like you get an adrenaline rush, sort of... you're there, thinking YAY, and this shock goes trough your body and you can start all over again..

Yes, at first I felt adrenaline rush, and got very exited, but now I'm totally calm... I'm amazed, not exited.

About WILD - when you are laying on your back, dont focus on body feelings. When they start, you will feel it.
Meanwhile, try keep your mind busy with some other activity. Focusing your attention on body, while laying on your back = torment

Thanx Ev, I think you totally pinpointed what I was doing wrong, along with the excitement of course. Is that what the visualization of something is for? Keep your mind on something other than your body but still focused and active?

For 4th night I'm trying to induce WILD, knowing what WILD is, and how it feels.
Last night I was at the edge of WILD. I could feel it's onset, however I tried to control it, and I guess I thought too much.
I've felt overall feeling of numbness, and losing control, and could feel my heart just racing at 140-160 bpm...
But I failed and gave up.

From this I can conclude - I should try to find a balance between thoughts, visualizations, and looking for body signs.
      Which is very difficult.

another important thing is temperature control I'm either too cold, or too hot. And I cant change temperature without moving, and moving destroys the effect...

yea temperature control is really annoying, I just try to ignore it as much as I can... btw.. last night when trying this I started feeling my heartbeat pulse through my entire body, is this the onsetting of the body going to sleep?
