      WILD: Am I Close?

Here is how my Wilds go:

I lay down in my bed. I get as relaxed as possible by using the breathing technique. I also monitor my thoughts. My body starts to feel like itis in a case. I can still move, thoug. After awhile,45 min, I start to get a tingly sensation that starts i the middle of my spine. It starts there then bounces down my legs and up my arms, never staying in one spot. I also here things in my head, but I know that it is in my head because it doesn't sound in my ears. I usually give up when it has been like 1 1/2 hours.

That is all the farthest that I can get. No SP. Am I just giving up too easily? Any response would be appreciated.

I can rarely do WILDs. The only time I practise is when I am insanely tired and have been up for more than 20 hours and even then it has only worked 2-3 times. How long does it take you to fall asleep? Unless you fall asleep easily WILDs are very difficult from my experiences. If your are new to lucid dreaming, I would recommend doing WBTB and develop good dream re-call using a dream journal. I recieved results from this in 2-3 weeks, although the lucid dreams only lasted a matter of seconds, it was most rewarding. George

I say keep trying for the WILD. Sounds like you are real close to it. Do you ever see any HI? Like spots behind your eye lids, or the sensation of growing lighter when the tingling starts in your back? The next time you try to WILD, visualize a specific place that you are very familiar with. For me I pic my room since I am already there. Think about how it looks when you get the tingly sensation. If all the sudden you see your room and bed and that kind of stuff then you better do an RC right away. Most of the time you are actually dreaming and can recognize that fact right away. Good luck!

I tried to WILD last night, after about 5 minutes, my head starts feeling weird, and I have this heavy, stiff feeling that runs down my body. I started getting kind of dizzy/light headed and it kinda freaked me out so I opened my eyes and got up.

I tried it again a while later, I get past that part, it only took about 5-10 minutes and started to focus on faint lights and colors but my heart started beating quite fast and I was kinda freaked out again so I stopped and just went to sleep normally.

      So.. what was happening?

That's usually what happens to me when I WILD, or attempt to anyway. I don't necessarily feel too excited, but my heart starts beating a million miles an hour and it's just impossible to relax.
"Speaking of which, did you find out about the you-know-what in your toolshed? As in, a name?"

"No, the dead body in my you-know-what is still a mystery."

You are incredibly close. The answer then is quite simply: you have to stay calm. You simply cannot let your thinking get too active. You have to master the art of thinking about nothing, being completely relaxed, but maintaining your consciousness. It took me about 8 or so WBTB Wild's, and several WILD attempts from napping or first retiring that I finally got the process down. It's simply impossibly to describe all the sensations you will feel in words, so to be able to expect the sensations (and thus not overreact), you simply have to experience them first. Also as you begin your WILD relaxation, remind yourself of all the feelings you will experience so you expect them, and they don't get you worked up.

Hobus, I don't normally see HI or anything like that, but I sometimes do start to feel light. I am now going to try WILD whenever I wake in the middle of the night from a dream. I have been doing MILD recently with some awesome dream recall, but no actual lucid dreams. [/quote]

Well spoof, as far as not seeing any HI - it is possible that some people don't see/experience it. But you are on the right track just by practicing every chance you get. Don't give up!

Last night for WBTB, when I woke up, I saw some flashing lights I think I am pretty close. It was the first time that I saw stuff like that!

Man, the first time I tried a WILD it was for purposes of OBE and it did in fact work... Maybe I should just try and do a WILD every time?
