I've noticed if I go anywhere in my house there is always noise, I mean it bothers me because I think everytime I hear noise in my WILD it might stop me from being successful, basicly I got 2 options should I turn a fan on low to block out the noise, but it's noise in it's self though white noise won't be as harmful, I could use ear plugs, which may irritate my ears, and giving my parents a good reason to need ear plugs is hard.

Basicly I need to know if the fan on low power might defeat success well WILDing, or should I just hope I can somehow uptain ear plugs.

Hrm... Eventually, your ears should dampen the external input it's receiving. When I enter sleep paralysis, the only sensation I really notice from the outside world is how the bed feels.

Last night was an extremely windy night, so there were lots of trash cans and things blowing around and making a lot of noise. However, once you manage to block 'em out with your mind, you can function properly to WILD. Just keep a relaxed mind, focus on your breathing, and remember that your body would've been able to go to sleep if your mind wasn't awake.

      Go with the flow, basically.

hmm its the opposite for me. i can keep my mind focused and STILL hear everything around me, doesn't seem to affect my atempts at all. i have always been highly observant, its strange to notice all these things. its kind of cool sometimes, but strange at the same time also.

Hmm I use a fan everynight and it hasn't hurt my wild attempts so far, listening to the fan helps calm me down.

My wild attempt last night was ok, There were times when I caught myself not even knowing that the fan was still on, but I'm getting ear plugs soon.

By the way I fell asleep afterwards and had 2 very vivid lucid dreams.

In general, noise shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as it's medium or low pitched and rythmic - like a fan. You COULD wear earplugs - I find they help sometimes.

However, with WILD, often the thing distracting you and preventing success isn;'t the actual noise, but, it's you WORRYING about the noise. If that makes sense? You're better off just trying to ignore it and not focus on it. Focus on your breathing, or HI, or something. In fact, if there is rythmic noise, you COULD focus on that as a WILD entry method. It's only when you have sudden unexpected noise that there's a problem.
