      Close to lucid?

I woke up an hour before my alarm this morning. Couldn't remember any dreams... then I remember a small clip of one, then I built off of that and soon remembered a lot more. I was in math class- teacher wrote something on the board which looked funny. Then drew a chart. i looked away for a second and looked back and noticed the letters were different!
It sort of paused there and I seem to just faded away and woke up. (or I can't remember the rest) but im pretty confident I woke up at this point. I think maybe I made a connection here that I was dreaming... but I woke up? I never once kenw I was dreaming during the dream but when I looked back at the board and saw the letters change and were completely mashed up words inside of a chart my dream seemed to fade.
Could this be because I was going lucid and woke up?

Yes, that's very possible. Most people tend to wake up right away the first time they become lucid. You may not have actually been lucid, but it does sound like perhaps you were right on the verge.
