      my dreams are BORING

Until about 5 or 6 days ago my dream recall was steadily improving, and had gone up from zero to a dream or two every couple nights in the space of 3 weeks. But since saturday night, I haven't recalled anything interestings. Basicallly all I remember is that a couple dreams were arguments, a couple were just doing nothing and talking, and a few were about ... school. These dreams were so boring and unmemorable, that i've barely even tried remembering them. I should mention that I am growing sick of school and all I can think of is April vacation starting next week, and haven't slept more than 8 hours a night for the last week thanks to it-that-should-not-be-named...Daylight Savings Time .

What can I do to get my dreams more interesting? . This boring streak is making me lose my motivation to try to LD.

      try new things
      read books
read a book for so long that you drift into sleep and are still reading the book in your dream (lol, this is funny, you will wake up and your brain would have made up all these plot twists)
      watch horror movies?
go to a halo party and play until the wee hours of the morning (i know of no better way to dream of shooting stuff )
      listen to different music
      do some different activities
become AWARE, because that is what lucid dreaming will do to you, it should make your look on life change a bit.

      Summary: do something DIFFERENT

i guess thats all i have off the top of my head. My dreams get boring sometimes too, oh well.

      Hello PenguinLord13,

My advice is very much the same as lord soth’s post. You need to try new things and experiment with your dreaming.

A little trick I use is to think of a basis for a story (Writing is one of my passions) act out that story in your head. Where does the main character go in this story? Why is he/she there? What is a good ending? This is a great way to influence your dreams; it has worked numerous times for me.

Do somthing crazy like all day? Maby school is consuming your life and its all your subconcense is thinking about too.

-Shoot BB gun at a gang member then run, plan perfect vantage point, time and place. Make sure its one without a gun so no innocent people get hurt i recomend; crime street, YGM, or 20 love . -->Not bloods, latin kings, (I dont know any crips), they they are usually way more serious.
-Go skinny dipping in the freezeing water.
-Start flirting with every girl you see thats farily pretty, get your sex drive up.
-Plan a heist, scope a bank out and stuff figure out a good plan (Dont act on it)
      -Make a bomb?
-Watch Tv shows on islands and beautifull women.
-Think about flying, sking, (Anything fast and fun, do it if possible)
-Quit school, lol. (JUST KIDDING, it takes education to make it in this world of $2.50 gas, and Taxes that Rape your pay check.
-Day dream as often as posible.

If I can find some time (it seems the closer you get to a vacation the more homework you have), I will definitely do something crazy don't know what, but considering the amount of great ideas you guys gave me, it won't be too hard to think of something. Too bad you can't go skydiving untill you're 18 (im only 13 (7th grade)). I want to go skydiving, it looks so damn fun, but that will have to wait a few years until im old enough. Thanks for the ideas.

Probably. Lately, like I said I have way too much homework. Normally I have a pretty reasonable amount of homework, but they load up on the homework near the end of a term (it ended tuesday), and now that a Vacation's coming up, I think they're giving extra homework since they don't really give homework during vacation.

Actually, as far as I know in my country you CAN go skydiving under the age of 18, but you haver to go tandem. Huh...

Boring dreams, huh? Yeah. I totally sympathise.
Recently, about half of my non-lucids consist of pretty much either me doing case briefs, writing essays, managing my banking, being overdrawn, or worrying about my degree. These are my DREAMS, dammit!

I'm going through a period of high stress at the moment, though, so this is to be expected.

Basically, EVERYTHING lord soth said is good, good shit. Waking life spills into dreams, and in my opinion, vice-versa. So, you gotta do something cool and interesting and stimulating in real-life, and without a doubt it'll pay off in your dreams.

I have read some posts in the past where some members had quit a vice (example: smoking) and their dreams were affected in a positive way.

For me changing things up helps for "un-boring dreams". Like one week ill drink herbal tea before bed and the next week I wont. I dont know why this works but it does. Maybe its just all in my head.

Also- It helps if im on the DV forum reading some threads right before sleep. You'd be amazed at some of the things that you read pop up in dreams.

      Good Luck!

I can rarely remember dreams from Friday night to Sunday night, so you're not alone. I usually have better luck during a regular weekday.

Great! Maybe you just needed a little encouragement.
