Lucid dream techniques for a beginner

Hi, I've just started to attempt lucid dreaming. I've been at it for about 2 days. So far, I haven't really been able to remember any of my dreams in full glory, but I've vaguley (sp?) been able to remember bits and pieces. anyway, it's spring break, so my sleeping patterns aren't normal, if that makes any difference...
I usually watch TV until I fall asleep, which has been around 11 or 12 lately. Does watching TV before going to sleep reduce the chances of becoming lucid?

So, moving on, does anyone have any techniques for a beginner?

PS- if this is in the wrong thread/is spam, move/delete it please... I have problems with putting things in the wrong threads...

I have virtually all of my lucid dreams when I sleep in 2-3 hours later than normal. So try to take advantage of your time off and get some extra sleep.

      Good luck

Hi, Elemeno - welcome to the forum

I would recommend reading through the tutorials, if you haven't had a chance yet - that would be a great place to start. Also, the book called Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge is an excellent LDing resource - very highly recommended on this forum.

Keeping a dream journal is very important to LDing as well, as recording your dreams will help you recognize patterns and dreamsigns that will help you become lucid.

The best thing to do since you're a beginner is to read through the tutorials and just start trying some techniques. Everyone is different so things work (or don't work) for different people.

      Good luck and have fun!
