      Alarm Clock RC

Last night I had a interseting thought. I was reading about Reality Checks and as whenever I read about them, I end up doing one. I looked at my alarm clock, looked away and checked the time again. Obviously nothing changed because I was awake.

Then something which has been happening to me for a long time suddenly sprung to mind; On many occassions in the past, I have woken up to find that I turn my digital alarm clock on snooze but the alarm clock doesn't do what I want it to. On most of these occassions, it felt like I had spent upto 1 minute trying to get it to work properly. Could this be a false awakening?..the alarm clock is so simple to use and the reason why it doesn't work could be that I'm dreaming.

Therefore, If I do a reality check every time I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock, maybe one morning, I will dream that my alarm clock has gone off, carry out an RC, realise that I'm dreaming and attain lucidity!

Has anybody else ever done anything like this or am I just talking a load of rubbish?
      Regards
      Martin

      Heh..

Yea man. I know what you are talking about.. Sometimes I will wake up and my alarm clock won't have gone off.. And I know it should have. Then I realise that it is going off and I kind of jolt up and turn it off. I never realise it at the time it happens though because it seems so real.

Lucid dreaming is such a tauntingly simple thing to attain...

A few nights go I had to be at work at 9, had my alarm set for 8:15. I woke up multiple times through the night; every time I would roll over and glance at the clock. 4...4:30...5...6...11:44!! WTF how did I oversleep??

I get up and grab my alarm...why didn't this goddamn thing wake me up...I start playing around with this dial on the top, bottom-left corner. It could be set to 3 different positions, I leave it in the middle position and start looking at the other buttons on the clock. But wait...my alarm doesn't have a dial in that position...'Maybe I didn't really wake up yet...', I think. So I look back at that dial, just to be sure...yup, it moved to a new position by itself...

I realized I was dreaming. I stood up and looked around my room...it looked just like my real room except for a couple objects on the floor that weren't supposed to be there. Everything looked so real. Then reality shifted, and everything looked more real than real...I didn't have anything planned to do the next time I was LDing, so I just started floating...but then everything started going hazy and I woke up...damn I alwayz forget to spin or look at my hands when I'm waking up...I used to be able to stay in LDs with will power but that hasn't been working lately...I think I just got too excited.

I wish I would have turned around and seen myself sleeping since i knew that's where I really was...hope I have that dream again...
