      Am I getting closer?

Last night I had another dream about lucid dreaming. I think I may have almost become lucid, but I don't know. That part is in blue. The rest is regular.

I was in a hotel with a bunch of my friends (and their parents). I fell asleep quick and found myself in my house in the hall. I pinched my nose and breathed in -and I felt the air go through! Suddenly the entire world started spinning. I couldn't breathe or talk somehow when I tried to shout. I started rubbing my hands together. After it had stabilized a bit more, I started licking something. I tried to stick my finger through the piano but it didn't work. I ran outside and tried creating objects. First I said "There's an apple behind me." I turned around and there was a half-eaten apple. I wanted to fly, so I tried levitating. It didn't work very well, so I created a 'moonbelt'. It had a directional pad that would let me fly. I strapped it on and began to start rising. I got bored in a few seconds and wanted wings. I ran over to the fence and thought "I want big, beautiful wings on my back!" Nothing happened, then I realized that some site had told me to feel from the heart. I squeezed my eyes together and tried to get it. But all I got was my brother putting some old dirty make-up wings on, like a necklace with them strapped on. I woke up in the hotel soon afterwards and woke up my friends.

It wasn't a real lucid dream, or I would have felt everything happening. I think Opal (my subconsious) is trying to prepare me for my first by showing me how to do things....could that be? Or was that just a dream? I'm really excited but confused.

The fact that you knew you were dreaming makes it Lucid. How great your skills are in the lucid dream is another thing. Sounds like you had some control which is a great start. I've been doing this for 10+ years and you don't always have "full total" control, just in most aspects.

      Keep practicing!

No, see the thing is, I didn't really feel it. I didn't conciously know I was dreaming - it was another part of the story. After the blue text, it was just another dream. I was dreaming I was in a lucid dream. The only time I felt really in the dream was when I felt the air flow into my nose through my fingers. The rest was just watching from the sidelines as a copy of me started doing a lot of stuff. When the dream was over, I woke up in another dream. It was part of the story...like everything else.

About creating objects, I know that wasn't me creating them. I was watching myself from above. Seeing myself create the objects, then turn delighted to see it worked. It was a completely random part of my subconsious. At least Opal's showing me something cool.

I've been having more vivid dreams lately, and I can feel the water and such on my face. But this one didn't touch the senses - a TV show if you may. I don't know. It just felt like a regular old dream. Nothing like the things I've heard. Isn't a lucid supposed to be like real life, except you're in a dream? Where everything looks, feels, smells, and tastes like a solid object, and not a projection?

But even if this wasn't a real lucid, I'm really excited to know I'm coming close!

The first few times you LD, you will notice that it never really FEELS like you did It always feels like you just dreamt that you were LDing, and tbh, you did everything you would in an LD, and it sounds like you HAD entered one, and then when you fell back into a dream again, your brain created some narrative (some kind of schema thing maybe) to make sense of this!

If I had a dollar for every lucid that turned to a regular dream, I would be a rich man!

I had another one last night, a bit different since I was at school. Sitting in my chair in history, I stared at my hands - the world twisted and turned around them, like I was getting vertigo. I freaked out and did the nose trick, and it worked! Then again, it turned into dream. Ay yi yi, I wish I could have a real lucid and not just 1-second "Holy-crap-i'm-in-a-dream" ones...

When should I feel completely concious (i.e., when will it really feel like real life?)???
