      One thing that's annoying me...

This is something i've noticed happening quite a lot in my dreams, mainly my nightmares. The dream gets really scary, and i have to wake myself up. I always say something along the lines of 'i've got to get out of here, i need to wake up'
Now, my question is this. In order to have this reasoning, i must be lucid, so why do i always chicken out and wake myself up? If i could make myself change things around a bit, i could have a bit of fun.
Prime example i had a nightmare about someone having a heart attack. If i'd been acting differently, i could have saved the person's life in the dream.
      Any ideas?

You know, I sometimes do the same thing. Not always from a nightmare, but most often I hear something in the outside world. When I was young, I would sometimes wake myself up, but most of the time, I would summon a Nintendo Character to take care of it, and knowing it was a dream. Usually, the only times I command myself to wake up is when I know what time it is, or if I hear something (depending on the dream) and if I know what time it is and it is late, I command myself to wake up like an echo, or I go back to bed to wake up (all depending on the type of dream).
Splash also did the same thing many times, and I told her to go back in there, and just face up to your fears, no matter what! The worst thing that can happen is that you'll wake up from excitement, but at least you will conquer the fear. Too bad the dreams that I was scared of most I had to go back to bed to get away from them, but learning to face them has taught me a lot.

      Just face up to them!

Perhaps i should try some sort of induction technique, like deliberatly induce a nightmare and go lucid.
I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.
Btw, where is ramu, and merck? I've kinda lost the plot with old DV members since being in America.

Try WILD, because it will be a lot easier to fade into it and conquer it (TV WILD works wonders)

Yeah, Ramu has been on Danny Phantom forums (I have interests in that show, too, but I won't join other forums), but I really miss her, b/c she was my PM buddy before, and we told each other everything we knew.

I reckon if you concentrate on a productive incubated emergency plan, hopefully you'll remember it when it happens again, and not commit dreaming suicide!

That's a good idea actually. A sort of 'plan' to deal with whatever situation comes at me.

Yeah, writing a sort of outline or plan is a really great idea. It has helped me a number of times. I think that doing this really makes it more concrete in your mind. I also find that telling others of your intentions really helps, as your mind feels more obligated to work toward that goal. Anyway, I hope you solve your problem, Irishcream.
