      Tone out noises during WILDs

      Well, considering my mind needs to wander to fall asleep, I had assumed WILDing would be impossible for me, because it required concentrating. Well, I might of proved myself wrong, but I'm not sure, BECAUSE A NOISE BROKE ME. So here is the story.

      It is about 1 AM. I've been trying to sleep for about 45 minutes now, but I just can't seem to fall asleep. This is the first night in 5 nights I've had trouble falling asleep. So, I think to myself: "Hey, even though I haven't gotten 5-6 hours of sleep yet, I'm gonna see what happens if I try to WILD!" I lay down, and start doing the 61 point method. At about point 3 (which believe me, was quite a while. It is hard as hell for my mind not to wander when I need to concentrate on non school work) I got some dark blobs of colour. I'm not sure if that was HI, because if I imagined them there they would come up in my actual vision about half a second after, so I thought it was just me wanting them. Bla bla bla bla I did more. It literally took me half an hour to get from point 3 to 13 because my mind wandered SO MUCH, especially on the finger points. Really I was thinking about standing on my wrist, and the next thing I know I'm thinking about the myself cooking eggs... Its weird. Anyway, at about point 12 I started getting cool images. I am pretty sure this much be HI, because it was so rapid it was scary. I could of never created something like that myself. It was like a war of dark colours. I could've sworn I saw a fossolized frankenstien face in there as well, not to mention total light periods. This might just be me, but the tips of my fingers were kinda tingly. I was almost so amazed by these, and of course I didn't care much about the WILD, because I didn't get 5-6 hours of sleep, so I just watched the images, while half conciously slowly doing the 61 point method. At about point 15, I heard my brothers bed creak. I was thinking "OH CRAP, WHAT IF IT RUINS MY HI!!!!" It did. I was pissed. He is lucky he went to school before I could kill him.

      I opened my eyes amazed, yet angry, at about 1:28 AM. I fell asleep at like 1:40.

      So, do you have any suggestions to tone out any noises during the wild. If it helps, I have been sleeping with headphones the past week or so, so my iPod's alarm can wake me up at 4 AM for the WBTB method. I don't really want to listen to white noise, but do you have any suggestions?

      There is not a lot you can do about it. I use white noise, but it still doesn't help much. Having someone sharing my bed is the biggest WILD killer I have. If I am lucky, usually in the early morning, my wife will be into a very deep REM phase and will be motionless.

      I cannot count the number of times a noise has broken my WILDs. The iPod is a good idea as long as it doesn't distract you. I would recommend playing something New-Agish though instead of Queensryche.

      Ok thanks. The person actually doesn't even sleep in the same room as me... in fact it's the room next to me, but I can still hear him.

      I'll play some new-age music maybe, and I'll do it later in the night where he won't be moving so much. And if he is moving.....

      Be careful wearing headphones to bed, especially if you move around alot. People have been known to be strangled by loose wires while sleeping. =

      I can't stand how noises seem so much louder during that state for me. One little creak in my room, or a rumble of thunder in the distance, and it makes me jump

      But it I continue immiediatly, I can get back to where I left off within a minute or so.

      I was trying to meditate last night and I could here little sounds like that, try sleeping with a fan, if it doesn't brake your concentration. it blocks out some of the noise.

      I don't move enough to have the wires near tight enough to choke me (in fact they never even go around me).

      @LucidDreamGod
      I sleep with a fan, it's just on my ceiling, not next to me. It doesn't help at all. I'm not really sure why I lost everything, I heard the creaking noise. I thought to myself "Who cares, just pretend it didn't happen!" But then everything dissapeared
