Small problem I encountered last night...

...I woke up around 5 AM, feeling EXTREMELY tired. I was awake enough to want to lucid dream, so I just layed there and tried to WILD. Immedietly, I fell very deep into hypnogagic imagery. I could feel the bed moving and shaking and sliding under me, though I knew it was all just an illusion. Then, just as quickly, I snapped back awake. Again, I tried to fall asleep, and again, as I felt my body vibrate, I woke up. I tried it several more times, and ended up staying awake for about an hour.

Could anyone give me some tips to help me focus and prevent me from snapping back awake like I did?

I'm no expert (I've never successfully completed a WILD), but from the experiences I've read, you may have actually been in a dream when it felt like you suddenly "woke up." You should have done a reality check.

this has happened to me a few times. I beleive that the world around you looks a certain way when you are dreaming (non-lucid of course) If you noticed the vibrations at all, then it possibly could have been that, that canceled out your WILD.

This happens when your body wants to go to sleep no matter what. To your body it doesnt matter that you are awake. I call this condition a "Chain WILD" because you can experience WILD many times until you finally enter a dream or as in your case shrug the feeling off. I have my own problems with entering WILD, but when I experience Chain WILD I usually succeed. Most of the time I go with the flow till I find myself in a stable dream, but last time I actually did a backflip once I felt like the WILD is deep enough.

Notice if you are trying to do anything with your body as you enter WILD. Notice your thought pattern, do you focus on the vibrations, do you actively engage in studying them? Do you feel fear or anxiety? I want to hear about your WILD experience before I tell you something that may screw your WILDs the way mine are.

I'm sure I was awake. I did do a few reality checks, and this was the first time something like this had happened to me while I attempted a WILD. As soon as I felt the vibrations, I guess I got excited and just woke myself up. But it seemed like just noticing them kept me awake.

Just wondering, but what's a WILD? Have something to do with awakening during lucid dreaming?
