So, I went to bed at 6pm today because I wasn't feeling well. Well I woke up at 10pm and recalled two very vivid dreams. After writing them down, I decided that this was a really good time to try to WILD once again. So its been rougly 50 minutes now. I suppose this will be the most legitimate shot I've given it. I'll be posting my results in the morning... wish me luck!

Ah that sucks. Do you suffer from insomnia a lot? It's strange, I found out that this Vanessa Carlton song I listen to called 'Private Radio' is about how she struggles with insomina. I thought I used to, I dnno, I just end up waiting until I feel so tired that I could fall asleep standing up, which usually means I'm awake til about 4am. Not exactly the best method, but it suits me better that lying there at 1am nd just staying awake for 3 hours.
I figure I can describe it since I have a choice in the matter

I used to get insomnia like 75% of the time. I don't get it so much anymore, I imagine the reason I did last night is because I completely went off of my normal schedule. Last night I went to bed at 6pm, got up at 10pm, and tried to go back to sleep at 11pm... instead I finally fell asleep at 4am and got up at 11:30am. My normal schedule is going to bed at 2am and getting up at 10-11 am. It's also possible that it is the result of the Vitamin B6 I was testing out for its effect on dream recall... Well it definitely helped with recall... whether or not it attributed to my insomnia... insufficient information... more testing needed... heh

Insomnia. I know all about it. I've been having it for a couple of months now and it will do more than just make you very tired and aggitated: it makes you go quite insane after a while. Like Freaking out and loosing control.

I managed to tackle my Insomnia the last couple of nghts after I became aware of what was the cause.
Usually it is Stress, or your body and/or mind not being at ease due to an external factor.
I sure hope you don't have Chronic Insomnia cuz that really sucks balls. But if you find the cause first it may prove easier to tackle tha you might have ever imagined.

One night I was loosing it cause I was soooooooo tired yet not able to sleep. It truely drives you mad. My mom, who I had awoke by lying next to her in bed and being all messed up with slurred delerious speach and everything helped me and gave me Promethazine and IMMIDIATELY I was calmed down.
This sleep Aid truely is an Insomniac's Bliss, but you can't use it regulairly since you will build up tolerance and it will become less and less effective. Allthough the doctor said I COULD take it once every week, I will use it in emergency cases only.

I simply used it to Knock me out so I could have a better start attempting to return my biological sleeping clock to normal again.

But FIRST you need to figure out WHAT is it that keeps you from sleep, or causes a complete lack of sleepyness.

I suggest you take 30 minutes to meditate/Come to yourself/Spend time alone without any input. No TV, No Music, No Light, No Sound...NOTHING, just you and your Mind for 30 minutes before going to sleep. I use it as a pre-sleeping ''ritual'' to get in the dreaming mood before I go dreaming. Works for me.

Yeah I do that every night. I have to have it perfectly dark and perfectly silent save for my fan providing white noise. Like I said above I used to get insomnia about 5/7 days a week. It got so bad I had a polysomnogram (sleep study) done. They found some discrepencies they couldn't explain but overall weren't much help. That was before I discovered that I sleep better the later it is. For instance: I will sleep like crap from 10pm-6am. I sleep BEST during the daylight hours e.g. 10am to 5-6pm but life isn't tolerant of that. The compromise I came up with was sleeping from 2am-10am. It works well enough for me, and it also doesn't interfere with daily life, so now I work my schedule around sleeping from 2am - 10am. I still have an occasional sleepless night maybe 2-3 times a month. Last night was because I had changed the schedule up due to illness, I had a killer toothache I was trying to avoid.
