Sometimes WILDs just happen, and when they do they come one after another, so you can "chain" WILD until you successfully enter a dream. Also, if you experienced one WILD at any given night you are very likely to experience another. The first night I ever had WILD I had 2 of them.
About changing scenery - it is quite difficult to completely change the scenery, it's possible to change some detail, but to completely change one requires a lot of effort.
Like you I never had success with the whole "door" thing, spinning didnt work for me either.
I did some experiments with teleportation. It worked, I've used a technique similar to the dream reentry but from within a dream - I've imagined the new surrounding and shifted my attention into that surrounding.
If you will have another LD in the next few nights and you still want to go snowboarding, google a picture of the Alps or some other snowy mountain place. Look at the picture, get a hang of that place, imagine yourself in it. Use meditation/dream incubation on this image.
Next time you find yourself lucid, imagine yourself standing on that mountain with a snowboard either in your hand or already equipped. The image must be still with no movement. Focus on this visualization and shift your attention in this image. Let go of the dream around you and focus on the new dream.
This is a very complicated image you are trying to get into. There may be difficulties. I can think of a few - with a snowboard in your hand you may not be able to equip it or lose a good deal of lucidity fiddling with clamps and stuff. There also may be no snowboard, you may waste a lot of time summoning it.
Therefore if any of these things happen remember that you may glide on *force* alone. It is the most natural feeling - imagine blade or two points of force under your feet (same kind of force used for flying or levitation) so you are levitating a few inches off the ground, then maintain this force and glide down the mountain. By controlling this force you will be able to accelerate, deccelerate, make insane jumps, etc. Think of it as some kind of crazy rocket boots
Damn, all this talk of snowboarding makes me want to do some Maybe I'll try this tonight and see if I have any success. Sometimes I have the most beautiful and fun dreams of snowboarding, scateboarding and sufring... But I dont remember ever doing that lucidly.
