I've been reading on these forums that a lot of people are not getting the results they want from the vitamin. It may be partly due to the fact that b6 cannot fully be absorbed without the help of the other b vitamins (b1,2,12,etc.) If you are having trouble with this b6 fad then go out and get a bottle of vitamin b complex (which has all the b's). This will help the absorbtion and will get more b6 into your system. Another hint is to stay away from calcium. Dont get rid of it totally, but calcium actually absorbes the b vitamins, thus "neutralizing" them. Try this, and if you get results, either good or bad, post it on this thread. Another helpful hint from hominus.

I have melatonin thats 3mg and had 10mg of b6 but 63mg of calcium so the b6 is pretty much negated right?

Also I thought I remembered reading posts that said drinking a glass of milk and eating a banana would help with dreams during WBTB. So that isn't true either?

I use 200mg of b6 and sometimes eat late night cereal with bananas, both have worked wonders!

Eating a banana will help because it is full of b vitamins (im pretty sure). they also have potassium, which must not affect b vitamins like calcium.

      Whatever happened to zinc?

I remember a few years back using zinc to increase REM and vividness. I don't remember the mg's and what not. I'd like to start using it again but don't know dosage.

      Anyone?

Is B6 supposed to help dream vividness or something?

Oh yeah to add on to what TweaK said it makes you more awake. So it's harder to fall asleep but once you do you'll be more aware and have a higher chance of getting lucid. In a very vivid long dream which you will probably remember

hmm looks like i've been doing it wrong. I've been drinking a lot of milk before bed just to see if it affects the way I dream.

I think my last LD was actually when I had a banana the night before, I could be wrong though.

Thanks for the tips, I'll do some experimenting

Maybe we can look at this in a different way maybe due to the fact if you take b6 you believe you have more chance lucid dreaming, so due to this suggestion that is will make dreaming easier makes you think you can more than without like a psychological thing.

Example- When i was a kid and i had a cold my parents used to say if you drink this glass of liquid your symptoms ill go and i believed it would work so i used to feel better but when i asked what was in the glass a few days later my reply was just water. So maybe its just the suggestion that it will help is all it is.

You are talking about the placebo effect Sostyles, but b6 has been proven not to be placebo

I used b6 last night and I didn't get any results. B6 doesn't seem like it works that well. One time when I used it and kept waking up during the night in half-dream states.

So I don't see much results, but I still use it just in case.

100mgs is what I use, but some people use 200mgs. Which I think I'll try tonight to break my dry spell.

I've been reading some posts that mention b6. People have been saying "I took it last night, but i didnt get results". Thats probably due to the fact that your body needs to get used to it. You kind of have to build up a metaphorical "tolerance". In other words you have build it up in your body first. Ive had great results. Just keep with it and post your results. Peace crackaz.

From what I understand vitaman B which includes actually a group of eight vitamins, which include thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6), folic acid (B9), cyanocobalamin (B12), pantothenic acid and biotin.
They aid in the central nervous system and it's proper functioning.
So this tells me that a good functioning nervous system would aid in any mental task, such as lucid dreaming.
BUT..If you are not deficient or lacking the source, then there would be no reason to take more
In all likelihood it will not have any effect at all.

I've been taking B6 for about a week now and I only have seen positive effects. I take about 100mg, 30 min before bedtime and my dreams have become more vivid and alive, specially the past three days. I have not yet experienced a LD caused by increased vividness but I'm sure I'll get there.

If no negative effects will come from eating them I'll stay on the dose.
Lucid dreams = stopped counting them
