Two nights ago, I had my first Lucid Experience. It didn't last long. I could say anything I wanted, then things started to fade to black. Is there anyway to prevent it from fading out and going into an ordinary dream when you don't feel like leaving?

That seems weird that when you lose lucidity you go into a regular dream, the case for most ppl is they wake up. Anyway to uphold your lucid dreams you have to stabalize. That would be the using the spinning tech or rubbing hands and also not to get very excite, stay calm and relaxed

Check the tutorials and other threads before asking ques.

Sometimes I do wake up, sometimes I go to another scene like on a DVD.

yea, most poeple's first lucids are like that. It's ok, not everyone can have immediate long and vivid lucids. So for the rest of us:

dream spinning and rubbing your hands wirks for many. You can also try to look at the detail of your hands and the texture around you. Stabalizing a lucid can be kind of specific to the person. For me it just takes a bit of time to start clearing up. I just sort of observe for a little bit and constantly point out things that prove to myself I am lucid.

Ex: The furniture in here is different than normal - so i KNOW i am dreaming. When I opened this door I am in a different landscape - I MUST be dreaming. . . . etc.

After observing and acknowleging for awhile things get more vivd. For me - and again not everybody - if i try to do too many "tricks" right off I end up losing it. But again, you have to experiment and see what works for you.

I usually can never seem to realize that it is in fact a dream. A lot of times I do not have much self control in dreams. I can recall them, so I guess I should start off with DILD's.
