This i called Game induced lucid dream

Heres how it works. every night. before you go to sleep, play a game on a Ps2 or XBox or soemthing. once you are done immediately fall asleep. try and have it as close to your bed as possible. you might and hopefully will dreama bout playing the game and 2 things can happen 1: the technology wont work, trigguring you to wonder what is going on and trigguring you to have a RC or 2 you will be playing the game in your first dream and you will simply get used to playing it. you must do constand RCs while playing the game. every 2-5 minutes. in your dream when your playing the game you will hopefully do the RCs and go lucid. it is a cool dream starter cause you could go into the game if you cant think of anything else to do. try and tell me if it works.

Good idea mate, i'm a seriously addicted gamer, and I often dream of playing hte online game i play (Conquer). Your advice of constant RC's while playing is a good idea, especially if i link them to something inparticular, like a certain item dropping (which often happens in my dreams). I'll try this for the next few days while playing the game and get back to you if there's any interesting results. Peace,

      Glor

This is actually what initially increased my lucidity rate. Around 5th grade (Hmm.... That makes it six years, I need to change my thinger) I started playing this one RPG. Oh my god I was obsessed. I was totally head-over-heels for this one character. I would dream about that game all the time, and that sparked the lucid dream increase.
So yeah, here's a testimony- gaming helps.

Yeah, Star Wars Battlefront II triggered my first LD. I was playing the game and I kept shooting at this storm trooper in the distance and missing even though he wasn't really moving, I started getting frustrated and realized that it was a level that didn't exist. So yeah it could work.

Yeah I dream of games all the time (they're one of my DS's), especially ones I've never beaten. This could very well work.

Im going to also try this, as I frequently play video games (I also dream of playing Conquer, lol)

And just because I'm a girl, dose not mean I don't enjoy playing video games,

my first ever lucid dream was thnks to a game. I was dreaming about playing it, and I knew the game pretty well. Then something that shouldn't have happened, happened.

I was actually in the game though, not playing it, and it was a third person game. So insted of turning my head to look around, the camera rotated, which was wierd.

I woke up pretty quickly, probably from excitement.

See i cant play video games before i fall asleep, otherwise i get these wierd ass drems where i'm actually the character in the video game (i'm not lucid mind you) and i'm not even all the way asleep! It annoys me and keeps me up for hours at night... if it was anyone but me, i would try this.

I try this every now and then. I haven't had too much success with it, but I've had some interesting non-lucids after playing games. I've been trying this a lot lately, because I just got Final Fantasy XII and Shadow of the Colossus. Nothing yet, though.

[Edit:] And are you kidding, hydroPWNic?? Those weird-ass/first person/character-in-a-video-game dreams are the best kind.

I managed a pretty effective WILD once after playing an RPG for hours.

I've been trying to repeat the experience by playing CIV4 just before bed but it's had completely the opposite effect: can't even remember my non-LDs properly!

I'm guessing it has to be action-intensive games. Maybe has something to do with hyping the brain up in a way that is conducive to LDs

Sometimes when I play the same game all day, especielly strategy games, I dream that I am playing it later at night. But those dreams are very annoying. Good idea though.

I love CIV4. I could see why it would take away from dreams though. The part that makes this effective is constant RCs while playing the game. Civ4 rocks
