      hello there.

      intro: i have
-read MUCH on lucid dreaming, have mainly tried MILD and WILD.
-attempted to have a lucid dream about 100 times over about a year and a half.
-never had a lucid dream with actual mental clarity
      -never had sleep paralysis

although i have been trying to LD for a long time, only about for the 2 months have
i been trying every night and doing more "serious" attemps.. the past two months make
up the majority of LD attempts

ive been trying WBTB with WILD by drinking a good deal of water before i go to bed.
i woke up about 4 hours later... its the only reliable WBTB method ive found. telling myself
i will wake up sure hasnt worked, and i tried an iPod music alarm but the earbuds fall out of my ears. (i dont
want to use a audible alarm)

is this a good method? has it worked for you?

someone who dreams lucid regularly: please give me some quick tips
whats your routine to LD in a nutshell?
what are some things that really helped you to be able to LD?
what is your WILD like in a nutshell?

please say what works for YOU not whats from dreamviews.com, ld4all.com wikipedia and the 20
differnt sites that copy the same text.

i have been trying for so long without any results.
i REALLY want to have a LD... it almost seems im incapable.
      thanks for any help!

      Dont give up just yet

It will take a while if you've never had a lucid dream i use WBTB and somtimes WILD some say to stay up between 60-90 minutes for WBTB but i think its better to stay up for 30 minutes and start to relax afterwards otherwise you wont get back to sleep and wont have any lucid dreams have some milk or chocolate and go back to bed around 6am if you get up at 5:30 i was going to try this tonight but thier was a party accross the street and i didn't get to sleep till 4

      My advice is contrary.

Give it a break. Stop thinking about it and it wont occupy your mind. You are probably just too amped and its ruining your concentration, so just give it a break, and you might finally see some results.

Its at least worth a try, especially after a year!

i thought the more you thought about it the better... i have no trouble falling asleep
at all. i can make myself go to sleep in about 5 minutes if i want.
and my trouble with wbtb is falling asleep!
it doesnt quite seem to me im too amped...

what about taking a week or so to imporve my recall? is that a good idea?
how do you improve yours? i have a journal but only remembered snippets of last night,
nothing the night before, and just a small bit of the night before.

i have touble remembering things to write in my journal... especially right after i get up.
are there any tricks to recall? or is it just natural?

      thanks

well i cant help you with learning to lucid dream, (i can't) but the recall is different. ive only been keeping a dream journal for about 5 days, and in that time ive gone from never remembering anything, to at least 1 fuzzy, but somewhat put together dream. what helped me is IMMEDIATELY, in the first few seconds after you wake up, try to remember what you were dreaming. i noticed if a wait at all, its gone. hope that helps!

Something that helped me achieve my first LD was chocolate. I drink lots of warm milk before bed, that helps you to sleep faster and wakes you up at 3 AM because you gotta piss. After I go to the bathroom, I ate 5 pieces (thats one serving, but it's going to make me fat lol) of Dark Chocolate. Then I fell back asleep and had a very vivid Lucid Dream.

      Try that, or Vitamin B6

Fortified cereals, beans, meat, poultry, fish, and some fruits and vegetables. Most multi-vitamins will contain 2mg which is 100% daily value. You can also buy Vitamin B6 supplements that have 100mg (5,000% daily value) -- but don't take those more than twice a week, they can cause neurological damage.

I take multi-vitamins every morning, which has a small amount of B6 in it, I doubt that affects my dreams at night though. The big thing I use is dark chocolate, this has given me a vivid lucid dream

And yes, recall is a huge part of LDing. You should try to keep a journal every night of your dreams.

well i have never had a lucid dream but as for dream recall...

about 3 months ago i quit trying to LD just because i had a busy life, but yesterday i was reminded of it and im gonna try again.

when i quit i tryed for about a month and remembered my dreams nearly every night. some tips on increasing dream recall is..

1.THE most important thing is to keep a dream journal and write in it EVERY MORNING after you wake up even if you do not remember your dream at all. this will "train" your sub concious to remember your dreams.
2.talk about dreaming with your friends and family or even a stranger, when i started talking to my friends every day about the dream i had last night, i started remembering my dreams even more.
      3. reality checks are very important, some for example are to look at a clock, re-read text 2 or 3 times when ever you see it whether its a book or a billboard, ask your friends if you are dreaming, try and fly.. there are tons of ways to do a RC be creative!
4.try and keep a steady sleep scehdule, this was one of the hardest things for me to do but it can really help.
5.read up on lucid dreaming or even these forums every night before going to bed, it will keep your mind on dreaming.
6.while your laying in bed, keep saying in your mind "when i awake i will remember my dreams" or if you want to try and have a lucid dream say to yourself "i will realise i am dreaming" or ask yourself "am i dreaming?"

theres many ways to help dream recall, these are just a few that i have had from my own personal exp.

well i hope this helps you, happy dreaming!

well last night i drank alot of water, and im pretty sure i woke up in teh middle of the night, because i remember eating the chocolate, it was some dark stuff, and it tasted pretty bad.. i dont remember going
to the bathroom, and i cant imagine i drank 700ml+ withought having to go to the bathroom.
anyways, i at the chocolate some time in the night.. i think.. haha i shuold go check and see if its there!

well i ended up having 3 dreams i could remember, it took forever to write them down i remembered so much!

before bed i was try self hypnosis... got woken up by my cat on my bed.. then a dog out the window.

wait is HILD one you do in the middle of the night?

why do they separate WBTB and WILD? you cant WILD without WBTB and what the heck is WBTB without
      WILD?

well good to see im getting some dream recall!

WBTB alone is staying up for around 30-90 minutes reading or doing something lucid dreaming related and going back to bed. You don't need to do all that to do a WILD. And, it's possible but very difficult to WILD at night.

i think ive found my problem: I need to get up about 6 hours after I sleep,
as most WILD guides state. The problem is waking up. I dont do too well with
telling myself to do it, and I dont want to set an audible alarm for obvious reasons,
and for iPod earbuds, I always wake up laying on one of them.

however, I DID wake up at 6:45 this morning, (went to bed at about 12:30).
first thing I know im laying on an iPod earbud, and I get up to pull it out from
under me. I think to myself "what a wonderful world" haha what I REALLY thought
to myself was "well my iPod alarm didnt work..." then I become more awake and
think, "well might as well check the time.." and it was 6:45. I realize this is a good
opportunity for WILD, and I get up, go to the bathroom, then move around a little.

I get pretty awake, then start WILDing. It was a very strange WILD... I would start
counting my breaths, maybe get to 30, then lose track and start over. I didnt lose
consiousness when I lost track, and finally, I went into SP!!! it was crazy good!

at first I was just tingly like im about to fall down the stairs, then I got more tingly
and numb, where it felt like my two hands were occupying the same space (one was on
top of the other)... its was good stuff...

my heart starting beating pretty fast, is that cause
I was excited? or is that just SP?

anyhow, I was in SP for a time, trying to enter a dream.
I felt kinda awake, and was getting minimal amount of HI, then right when my SP and HI get
thick, the rest of my family gets up and makes a racket... I was still in SP, but no sleep.
I got up from SP at 7:35, and surprisingly alert, not wasted as I usually am from going to bed at 12:30.

it was weird, WILDing... while I was counting my breaths and starting to SP,
it felt like there was no time... its hard to explain. especially when in SP, its a great state
of rest and tranquility.. feels like there no time... anyone feel that before?

another weird thing is, contrary to ALL previous experience, i couldnt fall asleep when i tried
at 7:20... id catch myself going into SP, and become aware, and i didnt know how to go lucid.
      stuck in SP

cant wait to try again earlier!

      questions:
anybody have good ways to wake up? a way to keep iPod earbuds in?
whats the best way to enter a dream from SP?

I always find that taking a nap works well. Also, if you convince yourself that you will have a lucid dream and make yourself really excited and apply it to a suitable technique, the technique works better. Though, it isn't compatable with all techniques.

I have only had 3 Ludid Dreams in about 2-3 months of trying and two were only a few seconds long before I fell into "Stupid Mode" and stopped being lucid. The 2 short ones I accomplished easily with SILD, (http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...howtopic=37331), but my only good on happened last night and was a DILD. I went to bed thinking about having a lucid dream like I normally do, woke up after about 5 hours of sleep cuz I have a sore throught, got a bottle of water, and went back to bed with my last thought being, Maybe this would be a good time to try and WILD. In my dream I was about to hit someone with a bat (long story) and he yelled out, NO STOP! THIS IS A DREAM! YOUR DREAMING! I did a reality check (suprising as this is the forst time someone told me I was dreaming and I believed them) and it worked. I got a big rush and a weird tingly sensation. And I has one the the most awesome experences of my life. Anyways, my point is, I was about to give up, I was kind of angry that all the people on the site could have so many lucid dreams. Then BAM!!! it hit me in the face and I had one. Just don't give up, think about them a lot, and remember, Are you dreaming???

P.S. Sorry for the long post I just I like typing as much as I like talking.
I had a strange dream last night...

I can assure you that practice makes perfect and where there is a will there is a way....For some, playing the guitar is natural, for others they have to learn it (just like LDing)...this means that once you learn it (achieve it - the first one) - the next ones will come more natural - as long as you continue and learn and become more lucid in waking life....

Watch the movie Vanilla Sky - it's like watching a LD! - even if you don't like Tom Cruise (see my quote)

Click on my posts, I have tons of posts and ideas,

The most important thing I have found is to not become 'passively lucid' meaning that you don't even let your lucidity turn into a habit (it doesnt' work and you have lucid dreams without any awareness) What I mean is: DO NOT let your RCs turn into a habit of saying 'ok, I am awake..' for example, you have done 5-10 RCs in a row after seeing a Dream Sign in real life...but It might and will become a habit if you do not go farther. What i mean is become AWARE OF YOUR AWARENESS. You passively say 'yes, I am awake' - for each RC give yourself at least 3 SPECIFIC reasons why you are awake and not sleeping for EACH RC...

don't fall into this 'trap' for lucid dreamers...maybe this is why you can't get any farther...If you are still confused by 'passive lucidity' or being 'aware of you awareness' - PLEASE SEND ME A PM :!:
"What if I were to tell u that you can take control...of all of this? Look at all these people. Seems as though they're just all chatting away? Nothing to do with u. And yet., maybe they're only here because u wanted them to. U are their god. U can make them obey u or even destroy u."
