      Thumbs down

According to A dream book I read:

When you are deprived or lack sleep, your brain/body makes up (first) for lost REM sleep/stage. So if you wake up 4.5 hours after falling asleep....and intend on being lucid and keep telling yourself 'the next time i am in a dream i will know i am asleep (and control it)' -- It should work the best if you can do it...but be awake enough (5-15min) so you fall alseep almost instantaneously after CLOSING your eyes - keep them awake for at least 5minutes or so.....

I can also see how this will work when/if you interrupt it 'half-way'
"What if I were to tell u that you can take control...of all of this? Look at all these people. Seems as though they're just all chatting away? Nothing to do with u. And yet., maybe they're only here because u wanted them to. U are their god. U can make them obey u or even destroy u."

This refills my confidence in WBTB, it hasn't worked for me... ever.

      But I'll try it again!

Heh yeah you're in such a "I don't care about anything state" sometimes it's almost impossible to not be relaxed enough to pull off a successful LD or atleast achieve SP.

Not sure i believe that first statement, if it was the first stage, why could people not do it by going to sleep originally(yes i know it can be done, but is rare), or go to sleep for 10 minutes then wake up? The body isnt goign to be in the REM stage for 5 hours before getting any deep sleep...

I understand what you are saying - you're in deep sleep anyway for a while - but my theory is that if you force yourself out of that state that your body is used to going for 8-10 hours, then you will be forced 'off track' and depedning on how long you stay awake,.....

anyway, one of the main things is that you 'by pass' the 'i can't relax AND fall asleep' phase - that - as far as i know - only happens when you first lie down for bed that night (once...) - it takes less time to get into any dream state - and because you cannot 'zone out' -- meaning that when you do WILD of WBTB, there's less time for you to become inattentive and not get that first hypnotic/dream image.....

ANother thing is that hypnotic imagry - as far as i know - doesn't mean dream - and that will happen faster - in a sense - when you wake up in the middle of all of this
