I just tried something different tonight that I think you all should hear about. I am sure someone has tried this before but maybe not. Before I went to be I told myself that all my dream characters would tell me I am dreaming. I told my self with conviction that the next person I see will be in a dream and they will tell me I am dreaming. I also told myself that I would REMEMBER that I was dreaming and I would REMEMBER my dream. Then while I was failing a WILD with reverse blinking, (it was before sleep so no surprise I just like the strange sensations, LOL) I let the initial HI turn into all sorts of people telling me I am dreaming. Then at some point I fell asleep.

I had the most amazing and profound LD after that. It really released some pent-up emotions and helped me let some things go.
      Read about it HERE

Anyway I feel it worked because how often does someone tell you they are dead. So therefore a dream character basicly in a round about way told me I was dreaming. Right?

A couple of questions though. Has anyone ever had a problem with noise like this? It was very distracting and I think it caused me to lose focus. I was too busy talking to my grandparents to do anything about it. I was really upset my dream faded so fast.

Ok I think I better add something here. I went back to bed after posting this thread and I had another LD. I used the same method as I mentioned but I forgot to add a couple of things.

Last night while waiting for sleep I came to the realization that each individual realy does create his or her own reality in waking life (well by cause and effect) and even more so in dreamland. Then as I fell asleep I conjured imagines of two glowing red led lights like I was wearing those lucid dreaming goggles. Which makes me think of what my wife said in a previous dream. something like "put on your lucid goggles"

Also daylight when it should be dark is a big dream sign that I had totally forgotten about.

So I dont know if am just remembering dreamsigns if it is the visualizations but something is working. I usualy only have 1 LD a month and never thought I would have more than 1 in a night. I think I will keep doing what I am doing. Anyway maybe something I am doing will help someone else. However, I am realy starting to think that each person has to find his or her own unique way of LDing. You just have to keep trying different things.

Great stuff, Xanous! I think you're on to something. Your method would probably work well with a text-to-speech synthesizer. I'm currently working on a hypnotic file that contains some of the same suggestions, that people will tell me I'm dreaming, or I'll see a sign telling me I'm dreaming. So it looks as though we are heading in the same direction. I'm hoping to finish the hypnotic file in the next coupla days and will post it when ready. Let us know if your method works again tonight.

Congratulations on the success of your technique and also your very profound dream. Dreams like that can stay with you for a long time.

I read your post this morning and I thought your technique about it all day. I hope it works for me.

By the way, what is "reverse blinking"?

What is Reverse Blinking ? All credit goes to Sythix and his spider for this part.

I know my first post was sloppy so here it is step by step:

      1. Get comfortable and begin Reverse Blinking while saying with conviction, " I create my own reality". You may also count between blinks or say, "1 I am dreaming, 2 I am dreaming", ect. Try to time your blinks to about 5 seconds don't worry about being exact. Try to relax every part of your body and sink into deep relaxation.

      2. While allowing yourself to sink deeper in to relaxation, tell yourself that the next person you see will be a dream character and this person will tell you that you are dreaming.

      3. When deeply relaxed and you no longer feel like blinking, let the initial hypnotic imagery turn into all sorts of people saying "You are dreaming". Do this for as long as you feel comfortable.

4.when you think you are about to fall asleep, say again with conviction, " I create my own reality. I will remember to know that I am dreaming and I will remember my dreams". Then imagine two red led lights over each eye as you fall asleep.

Try not to expect too much when you go to sleep. It is important not to try too hard. Know that if you fail it is no big deal. However, know that you will eventually succeed.

Well, I did it again. I dont recall how it started but I remember being lucid last night and I lost lucidity when I tried going to the moon. I guess this is working for me fairly well.

Wow this sounds very interesting. Maybe you have something that will work consistently for you. I hope I can find something like that. I'm going to try this; I'll report back.

      Awesome.

I had a similar idea, posted somewhere, but it's probably buried beneath hundreds of other posts. But, instead of wanting whatever dream characters appeared to tell you, I had the idea of creating a "Dream Friend." He, or she, would be around while you were dreaming and that "person" would let you know you were dreaming. They would act as a normal person, too. Hang out with you, do stuff in the dreams with you, etc. I never got it to work because I slowly started losing interest in Lucid dreaming...trying hard to get back to it again though.

I thought of that too but I figured it would be too difficult to get the same person to be in enough dreams to make a difference. I really havent had any dream characters directly tell me I was dreaming but I guess I am doing something right. I havent had much time to analyze what exactly it is but hopefully I can keep this up long enough to find out. I can hardly wait to go to bed tonight, LOL.

      Talking

I think this combined with the technique I thought of* which you can read: HERE would work great!

I think I will try this technique because lately I have been having dreams and in my dreams saying/thinking "Grr, if only I could do this this well in a Lucid dream..." yet I never became lucid! I need a more "You are dreaming R-tard" approach I guess.

The big problem with incubation techniques is that there must enough underlying consciousness. For example, I recently had a dream where I was with a group of hikers and remarked that the scenery looked very dreamlike. I then asked them to raise their hands if they thought we were in a dream. Everybody raised their hand -- except me. I was convinced it was real and that they were delusional. DUH!!! This type of thing seems to happen to a lot of people. The dream TELLS us we are dreaming but we refuse to believe it...

Ha that's a good one! Doesn't get much more obvious than that! I wonder what part of the brain is doing the telling, and which part is not believing, and why the brain seems to tease you with it. Then all of a sudden, you're lucid for real and you don't know how that happened either. Very strange, I wish somebody knew the answer.

This sounds like a very good sort of auto-suggestion technique - coupled with my reverse blinking technique, I think it should be really effective. I like this and I will try it and post back with results, good one Xanous. Also about creating your own reality, I believe in that to be very true.

      Now here is Nowhere

I woke up this morning and got into bed. Went up to the roof and swam down the chimney to the mall. They had a special on meat so I poured some into a glass and watered the milkman. Then I drew myself home and found the fish had ate the cat the cat had ate the dog and the dog had been eaten by the mailman. Then I got out of bed and went back to sleep.

The earliest lucid i can remember was me at a party and my dad told me im dreaming and i replied "ah good i finaly fell asleep" i had many lucids before then so i wasn't too excited

When i read this it gave me an idea what if when the first person you see in the morning you do a reality check whether you be dreaming or awake in a few days you can become lucid in almost every dream

Im going to try your technique tonight

Thanks, i will try this technique.
Lol the first time I ever got lucid was doing out of nothing the "Nose tech" it worked then i looked at my hands and 6 or 7 fingers and the I knew i was lucid and didnt lose lucidity until I woke up (duh), but besides this one time, my lucid dreams are not safe or long.

The next lucid dream didnt last long since i was exited and i couldnt calm down.

And the last 3 I have had I realized in a way will get me killed if I dont find a good method for me. For example in one I was waling in school and I just said : "Hey this is a dream, and IM DREAMING" and I jumped from the 4th floor of the school to the 2nd one and then keep jumping and running. Lol if it was not a dream I wouldnt be here . XD

      EDIT---
Ok I tried the method and , I dont know if it wa sbecause i was so excited but, I was dreaming and I had like 3 LDs all of them very very short but in each i did the Nose-RC and "IM DREAMING!!!" I think that the big burst of emotion was the cause of the shortness of the dreams , I will try again and tell you tomorrow.

I had success with this method last night. Lately before I go to sleep and whenever I wake up during, the night, I've been thinking "The next person I talk to will be a DC." Finally, last night I woke up after a vivid dream with a DC that is one of my dream signs (DS = talking to a person from work, when I'm not at work). Then I woke up, realized that I really should have recognized that I was dreaming, and I went back to sleep, really believing that the next person I saw would alert me that I was dreaming (not directly, but just by seeing them.) It worked; I kind of went back into the same dream, and became lucid when I started talking to somebody. Now that I write this I realize that going back into the same dream probably helped too; but the DC is what I was focusing on.

So...I'll keep trying this; hope it keeps working.

this sounds like a very interesting and simple technique I'll try this next time I'm in my dream ocean and see what happens I'll post my results...
