      Thumbs up

      Hey there.
Some have said, and also from the book "Lucid Dreams"
that to wake yourself up without an alarm you "Try and make
that your last thought when going to bed". How are you supposed
to do that when the HI is coming, and when you need the randomness
of the HI to make you unconcious? Doens't make sense.
And whenever I mess with HI, like inspecting it or concentrating on it,
I have some serious trouble getting to sleep.

Could anyone clear this up for me?
      Thanks!

      I don't get your question?

      ---------
Lost count of how many lucid dreams I've had

I think what they mean is that when you go to bed normally at the beginning of the night you must think about waking up after every dream you have, not when you are WILDing.

What I mean is, if I try and make it my last thought, Ill never go to sleep. If
you keep thinking that, you keep too aware.

Personally, I make it my last thought until I hit the HI. Once I start seeing HI I usually try to sit back and watch it like I am in a theatre. I stop thinking about anything other than casually watching it go by.

Usually by the time I enter HI, the verbal part of my brain is pretty much shut off. If I am in HI and I think of somthing verbal, the HI goes away. For me, the visual part of my brain sort of takes over until I fall asleep.

What I'm trying to say is (for me) if I use autosuggestion until I start seeing HI, then the suggestion is already implanted and it doesn't need to be "suggested" again. Sometimes the autosuggestion works, and sometimes it doesn't. Like all skills, autosuggestion takes practice and trial and error in order to find out what works for you.

I know waht you are talking about. I think waht you have to do is just keep it in the back of your mind when you fall asleep, and just randomly think about it when it pops into your head. That way though you aren't concentrating too much, it is there, and there's a good chance it will work. Doing that worked for me to induce my Lucid Task Completion.

Well this morning at about 7:00AM I sort of woke up, but felt mainly asleep,
until I remembered about WILDing and thought 'oh I should wake up'.
I then saw it was 7AM and went back to sleep since it was already too bright.
I guess thats a start, recognizing those half conscious awakenings...
