Allright. I know somebody on DV has tried polyphasic sleep before. (Was is Placebo? I don't remember...) I don't know how that persons experience was, but it doesn't matter.

I'm going to follow the polyphasic sleep schedule. (Here is a good link to WHAT it is: Polyphasic Sleep) Why?

Well, I've improved my recall QUITE a bit since I started. I've gone from remembering absolutely nothing to remembering at least a fragment every morning. For me, that's excellent; however, I'd like more. No matter my efforts, whether they involve waking up multiple times at night by alarm or autosuggestion, I find it difficult if not impossible to remember more than one dream in a given night. I don't know if my REM is messed up or what, but it really doesn't matter either. I know with polyphasic sleep my body MUST tune itself to the schedule.

As for lucidity itself, I haven't had any luck with the methods on this site. That's not to say I wouldn't; I've only been trying WBTB with MILD for three weeks, but still it doesn't matter. Polyphasic sleep, once I adjust to it, should improve any results. There's really no reason I can think of to not do this, other than messed up schedule and the accomodation period. I quit caffeine, and that's harder than this little sleep schedule!

I have very good motivation and willpower; I know I can stick to the schedule. Hell, for a while there I was going on less sleep than polyphasic sleep would allow, because of my insomnia! After I read that article I was interested. I'm just gonna do it.

I will be napping at 3:30am, 8:00am, noon, 4:00pm, 8:00pm, and 10:00pm. (Why 10:00pm and 3:30am? My job is from 11:00pm to 3:00am, so I'll just have to work around it. It's not the actual times that matter, as long as your brain instantly enters REM upon napping.) The naps will last 30min.

I will post my results and thoughts daily in this topic. If this is in the wrong forum (I thought the schedule would help me attain lucidity) then please move it to a proper place.

I hope this will help me achieve lucidity, although lucidity is not the ONLY reason I'm doing this, though one of the main ones. I'm doing it to recall more dreams, to gain more hours, and to hopefully train my mind to enter REM upon sleeping. If anybody else wants to try this, feel free! I'd like to know how other people's endeavours turn out!

I would love to try this out, unfortunately school would conflict with any sleeping schedule, so it'll have to wait until summer for myself, but good luck on your endeavors.

I think pohyphasic sleep would work great for LDing it'd be like doing multipule WBTB's all day, I'm wondering how you wake up exactly 30 minutes later doesn't it take people at least 15 minute to fall asleep?

I hope to try this one day but I don't think it would work with a job I plan to have, that you work 8 hours a day.

I am very interested in polyphasic sleep, though school + the fact that I am not done growing stops me from trying it (i'll do it in college if I can). Anywyas, once you get used to the schedule, from what I've read, you don't have trouble falling asleep because your body is on a perfect schedule, and knows it must fall asleep.

Also, Good luck Richter, hope it works, though I get a feeling that missing nap between 10 and 3:30 may cause problems do to the fact your schedule is a bit irregular (not exactly every 4 hours), but maybe it won't, hope you good LDs
