Hello Dreamers.

A few years back I made a post on another forum about a technique I am using to attain LD's. I thought it might be interesting to post it here too. Although I do not know if anyone else has already posted a similar technique here (I did a quick search and found some similar ideas but not exactly the same), if so I'm sorry. Of the people trying this technique quite a few were able to WILD successfully after a few nights of trying, so if you are interested give it a shot and who knows it works for you too.

First of all I do not try this technique when I go to sleep in the evening. I do it when I wake up during the morning, like after 4-7 hours of sleep (I made that a habbit), when the mind is still in 'REM-mode'. This is inportant since as most of you will know, in this state of mind WILD-ing is much easier (to me at least, I suppose it counts for others aswell).

On to the actual technique. It mainly comes down to forcing your brain to 'open up' a new dream, without having to wait and practise any relaxing or focussing/counting exercises. For me, it goes as following: I wake up during the night, and I'm still very sleepy. Before I fully wake up, before I even open my eyes, I imagine myself spinning around my length axis in my bed. This in itself could already cause a new dream to emerge quickly (some people actually do it just this way I think). However, I then use this spinning sensation to roll myself out of my sleeping position. This creates to our brain the illusion of an out of body experience. The trick is to do this ofcourse without moving your real body. You have to do it with your imagined spinning dream body! (On occasion, you will move your real body, if you do, you were too early and have to wait a few more moments longer next time.) Once you are 'out of body', your brain is instantly forced to 'project' your awareness into a dream. I say 'project', since this is what happens actually, you are mentally launched, or projected into your dreamworld.
Let me stress here that you are not actually out of your body, only your perception of what actually happens might make it look like a genuine OBE (what that realy is, is beyond the scope of this threat). When you stand there beside your bed, being lucid, it would be the same as a dream in which you became lucid and created your house and went up to your bedroom, nothing more or less. I must admit that at first when I used this technique I was doubting if I were perhaps realy out of body, but this is clearly not the case (I did quite some testing to come to this conclusion). Also, it looks perfectly like a normal LD, so why wouldnt it be one? Right.... well this is the technique i have been experimenting with, it has worked for me almost everytime I tried it (assuming im not already to wide awake, then it doesnt work anymore). I suppose one could call it RILD (R from Rolling...)

So, if anyone uses similar techniques or would try this one, I would gladly like to hear about it. Recently I havent been using this technique a lot but I plan to get back into LD-ing again and use this tech again.

cool technique. im interested in trying it if you could just expound a bit on a couple of things:
I imagine myself spinning around my length axis in my bed. This in itself could already cause a new dream to emerge quickly (some people actually do it just this way I think). However, I then use this spinning sensation to roll myself out of my sleeping position. [/b]
what do you mean about the length axis? and do you imagine just you spinning or the whole bed? do you try to see it in first person or third?
However, I then use this spinning sensation to roll myself out of my sleeping position[/b]
How?

hard questions but but im not fully grasping it i guess lol

Hi Freefire.

Length axis of your body is head-toes. And I imagine just myself spinning around that axis, not the whole bed. It kind of goes like this, with closed eyes, in total darkness, I recreate the sensation in my mind as though I am spinning around my axis, from a first person perspective. At that time, in my mind, I am kind of spinning on my bed, at the same position where I am lying. At first it is a bit hard because you will also feel your bed still and this will tend to disrupt the spinning sensation. But if you force yourself to continue, at some point you will be so totally immersed in spinning that this will be all you feel. That is the time to use the spinning movement to roll yourself (actually, your dreambody) out of your bed, right into a LD.

The funny thing about this is that while you are spinning, your brain switches over from external senses to internal senses (your real body awareness is being replaced by dreambody awareness). At the point where you no longer really feel your bed, you have passed this point and you can use this right away to create a dream.

This is the best WILD method i have seen. Xetrov what direction do you mean spinning do you imagine yourself flipping or just normal spinning when you stand up to make yourself dissy, also do you imagine yourself standing up or laying down.

Now im a bit confused do you create dream or just enter it.

Imagine a dancer or ice-skater spinning very rapidly. Im sure all of you have seen this happening. Now imagine you are this dancer. Now imagine you are this dancer while you are in your bed, laying on your bed. Spinning fast, around your body's legth axis. Do not imagine yourself standing up, because this is an extra barrier and we want to make this method as easy as possible. Just wake up during the night, and do absolutely nothing but imagine yourself spinning around.

Also when I state we create a dream, I mean that our brain creates it. We already passed the point where external sensory input is closed down (we no longer feel the bed). So our awareness has slipped (unnoticably&#33 into our dreambody here. This goes so smoothly that you wont even realise it. You will think, hey I am still feeling my real physical body! But in reality, you feel your dream body. That's why, if you use the spinning sensation to roll out of your bed, you will find yourself in a dream. I hope this clears it up a bit.

Yup, roll off your bed and stand up on your bedroom floor. It will be a near 100% recreation of your real bedroom, but it will be a LD. Dont do it too soon though, you really need to be totally immersed in the spinning feeling. If you do it too soon, you will really stand up (not in the dream but IRL).

i've tried it in yesterday morning without hopes...And for the fuck, it worked...I had my LOSGEST and BEST lucid dream of my entire life...A lucid dream of fucking amazing 58 minutes...The most clearer, the most vivid, the most memorable, the longer and the best lucid dream that i ever had.

I need to thank you for this technique...It works, i need to say too, that yesterday it was so fast with this technique...I think that less than 3 minutes, so less, put me into the dream state, without FEELING the sleep paralysis (i only felt the sensation of spinning gotting real and a increasing buzz).
