I recently got back into lucid dreaming after getting LaBerge's book last weekend (school takes too much focusing). So I tried to do some things that I think would give a high chance of me going lucid. I was going to try a wild.

1) -read some of the book before I went to bed (9:00)
2) -thought a small bit of dark chocolate would help before too
3) -listened to the remix track and fell asleep to it
4) -woke up at 3:00
5) -had a small bite of dark chocolate again
6) -read the book for an hour
7) -went back to bed and listened to the track (4:00)

While listening, I tried breathing deeply and counting at alternate turns. After a half hour, I got bored and restless so I moved and turned off the track and proceeded to sleep without a tech. After a few minutes, I started thinking weird things and I think HI hit because I saw skulls creeping up and a book flipping pages. My heart began racing and I could tell this was how I was supposed to feel. Then it simply stopped. I wasn't dreaming and I never moved while this was happening.

So what was the problem?
It might have been the chocolate because even a tootsie roll keeps me up in the early hours but not when I first go to sleep. I also felt wide awake when I woke up. My normal sleeping time is 10:00-6:00. I thought since I went to bed an hour earlier, maybe I had a higher chance with that extra hour. I've been trying to get up six hours later so should I wake up even later or just not eat chocolate? And is it bad to listen to the track while wilding?

I'm still not giving up nor being annoyed about it; Christmas break is next week so I'll have plenty of time.

Edit: I did it again this morning except the chocolate and lucid track. I got to the same point three times in a row and just went to sleep. I didn't even remember one dream and it was nearly four hours of extra sleep!
