So I've been attempting WILDs a lot for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I think I am making more progress because I am starting to recognize some of my unique patterns as I fall asleep consciously. But I have a few questions about what I am experiencing:

1. After about 15-20 minutes of laying on my back and counting my breathing, I usually experience extreme vibrations. It starts in my legs and my quads will completely flex for about 2-4 seconds and then completely relax. This happens several times over a few minutes and then my lower back will do the same thing. If I wait long enough, it will move up to my arms and chest. Sometimes my back will arch and it seems like I'm going into seizures (I am not at all seizure-prone in my waking hours).

2. After the vibrations quit, my entire body usually feels very itchy and I feel generally annoyed. I'll think, "All I want to do is sleep and I'm keeping myself awake doing this and nothing is working," and then just roll over on my side and fall asleep.

So my questions are: (1) Are these vibrations normal or too violent/extreme? (2) does anyone else experience the itching feeling? Should I just stick it out even though I'm getting annoyed? and (3) does this sound at all like anyone else's experience; am I on the right track??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello! Happy New Year's eve.
I may not be able to help much, but I can offer some relief.

1) The vibrations are a common experience, I've heard of a lot of accounts from a lot of people. I get them too. The extremities vary, it's an individual thing, but I'm sure yours aren't too intense, unless you're falling off the bed ^-^.

This quote from Sythix might offer some consolation, too:
Normally you don't experience them because you are, obviously, unconscious when they happen. But since you're keeping consciousness while you fall asleep (WILD) you will experience a number of things that you normally go through while asleep/falling asleep and unconscious - they just take getting used to. [/b]
So these things probably occur every night, you're just not awake to experience them. It means you're on the right track, I think =D

I've gotten itchy feelings before, too, yes.. Uncomfortable >.<
You're just going to have to stick it through for the most part, you'll adjust to it with time.
Perhaps somebody else can offer more advice or assistance,
but I think it's just a willpower thing.
Don't give up!

I hope that helped at least somewhat

Thanks for the feedback wonderland. I wasn't sure if my vibrations were normal because they are so intense. When I hear vibrations, I think of a slight shuddering or shaking, but not an all out tensing of the muscles for several seconds. But I guess it's different for everyone. Anybody else have anything for me??

Consider yourself lucky to have vibrations that you actually notice! My sleep paralysis is much more subtle, that's for sure. When you start feeling those vibrations, know that you are very close to the REM/dream state. So keep on it when you feel shaky, and you'll soon be rewarded!
