this is a really great issue that's been brought up.
i also have music CONSTANTLY playing in my head. meaning, there is never a single second throughout the day that there ISN'T a song in my head. it can be irritating, but i've gotten used to it over time. it sometimes makes it difficult for me to concentrate too. by the way, i have ADHD too, like someone else who posted. i wonder if it's related to that?
i have one technique that works SOMEtimes. not every single time, but it's an idea. first of all, i always sleep with a fan on, even if it's not pointed at me. it's difficult for me to sleep in complete silence. so i've got my fan going, and i notice my thoughts are all over the place. i try to picture what the ocean would sound like. whenever my thoughts start to stray, i just bring it back to the ocean sounds. again, it doesn't always work (and i've never had a WILD), but it at least helps me keep the annoying thoughts/sounds out. and who doesn't love the sound of the ocean?
