So this is my problem. I have tried to have lucid dreams a long time ago, like 2 years ago, but gave up for some reason, dont remember why lol.

But a week ago I came across this site and decided to try it again. Well for the past 3 nights I was successful...kinda.

My dreams for those nights were very weak. I remember saying im dreaming in my dream, and remember pinching myself to make sure, and I specifically remember not feeling any pain when i did that. But the rest of the dreams, that were very short, I dont remember being in control. Its hard to explain, its like for those few seconds I realized im dreaming, but then the dream world just kinda took back over. I still have good dream recall from those nights, but it wasn't me who was in control.

anything I can do to strengthen my lucidity?

      thanks.

Hi, what induction method did U use? Sounds like it's working but what I did to get what U call weak lucidity was to intermittently percieve waking reality as "I realise (not sure yet) I'm dreaming" and do a check when that happens.

I dont know what method I used. I just began doing reality checks every 10 minutes for a week until it became burned in my mind to do a check before I do anything. Before I eat, I do a reality check, before tv, before driving, and so on, basically doing a reality check before any action. And I assume that carried into my dreams. I do a reality check while dreaming, and bang, i realize im dreaming. But after that...not much.

That's alot of checks for one day . Maybe U could try using a different RC and then back again. As for the weak lucidity, it could be that Ur mind is tired because from my experience I usually get good lucids with WBTB when I feel awake the moment I wake up and not drowsy and groggy. Btw I really admire Ur commitment to do RCs that much..me I do like U but dies off at the end of the day..LOL.

With your RC, would you just simply ask yourself if you're dreaming, or would you actually try to fly or read text twice?

      neither. I pinch myself. lol

Thats what I do in real life, and thats what I tend to do in my dreams to realize im dreaming. But in my dreams after I realize im dreaming i tend to lose control and let the natural dream take back over after only a few seconds

When you get into a dream and your lucid, but low level, just scream at the top off your voice "This is my dream! I can do whatever i want and now I want HIGH LUCIDITY!". Really believe it too. It works like a charm

When I do this in my dreams I usually wake up. So I get very lucid but not actually what was the intention. So in a way I get too much lucidity.

Anyone else with the same problem? Any solutions?

You could try looking at your hand seeing all the detailed texture in it, lines, lumps, colour, while saying to yourself this is a dream, this is a dream. Then look up knowing that everything will have detail just like your hand did. Take your time doing it though to see detail, don't just rush through it then look up. You could try to keep saying this is a dream this is a dream in your head through out the dream also so you don't drift off so easily. Good luck. =D

Actually, I kind of don't agree with the last bit - for the reason that with the myriad of trivially different "methods", each with their own silly acronymn, it's more confusing than anything.

I'd advise you read up on WILD, DILD, MILD, dream journalling, and dream signs and reality checks. Anything else is sort of more harm than good and confusing until you've got the basics worked out. Also, most of the methods are just ways that people describe how THEY do the more conventional techniques.

Hey thanks ucwmike used this technique and it has worked very well for me, just doing an RC after every action. I even made a topic on it here. Thanks again for sharing it.

I read somewhere that you should feel the texture of your palms with your fingers, you know, like if ur riding a bike, try to feel the wind hitting you, the feel of the handlebars and the burning or your thighs, and when u look at something, look at its detail and it should become more vivid.
