KNOW YOUR DREAMSIGNS! simple, huh?

My biggest dreamsign is when I look in the sky I can see very strange things (star nebulas, comets, ufos, ect). Because of this dreamsign I incorporate it into a RC mechanism. When I look at the sky in the waking world (a habit of mine) I note whether or not I see anything odd or unusual. In my experience this has realy increased the frequency of lucid dreams. Maybe I am lucky because this is a dreamsign that I can convert into an RC reminder but I would imagine that anyone could incorporate this same technique with thier own personal dreamsign.

Wow, that's cool! How long did it take U to 'link' the dreamsign to doing RC? I can induce my dreamsign at will everynight but I can't seem to link it to doing RCs because I dream it and that's it . I think U are in a way lucky to have that dreamsign because the sky gives U a tipoff to do RC. My dreamsign is lightbulbs cause it's also my hobby but lightbulbs are difficult to link to dreaming .

My best dream sign is when I'm falling, it forces me to realize that I'm dreaming because I can't hit the ground because then I'm dead and that only happen in dreams. Every time I have fallen I have become lucid.

Last night was pretty annoying though.. I was falling and I became lucid and started to fly instead. I did kind of a loop lik airplanes do in movies when they are about to crash, but when I looked up I bounced into a concrete house wall and woke up. 2 sec lucid because of that damn house
Currently practicing WILD. I quote Kaniaz who said it best: "The point of WILD is to piss me off". Though, I have not given up, far from it.

Good advice, Xanous I use the same dreamsign technique as you do - I've got my dreamsigns down to a science.

Every time you see a light bulb, think of lightbulbs, or hear lightbulbs mentioned in a conversation, ask yourself if you are dreaming. Do an RC. It's hard to get in the habit, but once you do, you'll see an increase in lucids.

For me, a big dreamsign is school buses. So every morning and afternoon when I get on the bus I do an RC.

PS: Did you just do an RC? I mentioned light bulbs at least five times!

I know my dreamsigns well, yet still fail to realize i'm dreaming when they occur.

It's ironic that I won't realize I'm dreaming from the bizzare occurences, but yet many of the daily-objects I come in contact with have lead me to realize I'm dreaming.

Hi, what's Ur dreamsign? I think it could be that U are so used to the daily objects that work well in reality so when they appear funny U will ask if Ur dreaming. Unfortunately for me the lightbulbs I see in dreams are rarely lighted .

Exactly.

A couple of my dreamsigns:

(Frequent) I'm playing hockey (suprise) and realize that I am missing something, somehting important. My stick, for example. Now in real life I would be like, there is < 1% chance I would forget my stick, but even if i did, it would take 10 seconds to go and get it. That, or maybe a skate, which once again would only be a very minor problem, but yet I completely freak out.

Another one (less frequent) is that I'm driving, and the brakes or whatever won't work, and I always seem to just miss hitting a vehicle. But yet, a cop always manages to see me

The one that I used to have as a kid (for good reasons too) was that I was always scared a comet would hit the earth and wipe us all out. Whenever I was dreaming I would look up in the sky and see this huge rock coming at me. That put the fear in me like no other. But as I grew up and held a better grasp on reality (Weekly World News is not a source&#33, I didn't let it bother me as much and as a result I don't have those nightmares anymore.

So yeah, those are my main categories in dreams currently, but I'm starting to use reality checks everytime I play hockey now, so hopefully those bad dreams keep coming - so I can make them good.

Nice! I tend to get emotional too over small things in the dream and when I do become lucid I always run off to nowhere because of the excitement. Doing all the RCs U know of only during WBTB for half an hour(shortcut..lol) is very good chance to become lucid also

I have to tell you this to be fair. Last night I dreamt that I was sitting outside with my wife and some friends. I saw a bright blue, fast moving light in the sky. I did ask myself if I was dreaming but I did not think that it was anything that strange so I said I was not. Then it turned into a jet and did some impossible arial stunts above us and shot some strange projectiles that opened a wormhole to another galaxy. I tried to jump into but it closed. I guess I need to do better RCs when I look up. Especially if I see anything of interest. At least I thought of it though. Sometimes I do fool myself when RCing in a dream.

Four days ago, I started to really try to be more aware during the day and do RCs whenever I see anything that is even the least abnormal. I seems to have been working because last night in one of my dreams, I saw my school bus. It was coming really fast at me down my road. It slid right past me and I was like wtf. I did a nose RC. That was the first time in a dream that I have ever automatically done a RC because something was odd.

By the way, the RC didn't work. ( I couldn't breath through my nose.) Today I made sure that whenever I did a RC that I would actually look around and do multiple RCs to see if anything is dreamlike. I do a RC like every five minutes.

I don't have dream signs - In all the dreams that I've had, the only things that have come up more than a couple of times are gardens (5 times), football (3 times) and fighting armies of strange beings (but that doesnt happen in real life anyway )

#1 exactly how does the nose RC work?

#2 i have a problem of rationalizing away my dreamsigns. for ex. if i'm having a hard time walking or moving is suppose to be a dream sign but i find myself explaning that something earlier in the dream caused it or i was working out that morning and i'm just sore. does anyone know how to stop this

1) Basically, you plug up your nose with your fingers and try to breathe. (No, you don't stick your fingers up your nose, you just pinch your nose shut! XD) If you're awake, you can't breathe. If you're dreaming, you can breathe. Very handy RC, as it works for everyone.

2)Whenever that happens again, stop. Do an RC. Don't base whether you're dreaming or not on something that happened awhile ago. Base it on something you do at the moment. Take just 5 seconds to do that RC, study your surroundings, and think, "Does this really make sense? Could I really be dreaming?"

Good luck, and happy dreaming!
