Ive been trying to wild for at least a month now, but im having trouble.
I never have any trouble with HI, blobs of colour start to appear very quickly in my vision after i close my eyes.
My problem is that i can never get any further than this, no matter how patient i am. I can lie there for hours on end but my body never goes into sleep paralysis and the HI never advances from simples blobs of green and blue.
I usually try counting to keep my concentration, and i often try and visualise a scene such as riding a bike or eating a meal, but nothing seems to happen.

I cant think of what i might be doing wrong. I usually try this after about six hours sleep, early in the morning.

Maybe you should try another method. Usually, experts say that if you've given serious effort to one method for a month and it doesn't end up working, try somethin' else.

MILD, FILD, DILD, HILD... check the Tutorials section, for sure!

      Good luck!

I agree with odds. WILDing is extremely difficult, I honestly don't understand why some people try so hard to WILD before they've mastered or even experienced DILDs.

Anyways...about your WILDing problems...it seems to me that you're trying to hard to keep your concentration. If you don't allow yourself to lose a bit of concentration, you'll never get to where you need to be to enter an LD. If all you've experienced are the blobby colors and stuff when you close your eyes, then you're sort of a long ways off in the WILD attempt.

Maybe it's time to give something else a try.

What's wrong with simpler methods - MILD, for example. I can't be bothered waking up and trying to WILD when I could just stay asleep

WILDS aren't easy to accomplish, so many things can be done wrong to lose it all, like in your case, you concentrate too much, but if you slacken that concentration a bit too much, you might not acheive the WILD and instead just fall asleep without ever once getting a LD, DILDs are easier to come by since you have more than one dream while you sleep, I've also heard that MILDS and WBTB have high success rates so why don't you try those? But if you really want a WILD that bad, maybe the site's tutorials might be of some aid to you?

I think WILDing is portrayed as somthing that is near impossible to achieve... if only people would realize, with some good practice and tuning the variables, a WILD is easy to accomplish.

The key is, as aquanina said, to lose a little bit of that concentration. The idea is to partially fall asleep, but still be awake. So concentrating so hard that your awake for hours on end with your eyes closed isnt going to work.

hmm, that must be what i am missing also. i have gotten close, but not quite there yet. i think if i tone down my concentration a bit i can suceed. i have been to the point, where i get HI and even HS. i even have had a tingling feeling over my whole body.
