Sooo... like every time I try to go into trance whether to attempt lucid dreaming or hypnosis. I fall asleep.

It's like this, usually I would go into a sitting position with my eyes closed and just zone out trying for some heavy mental relaxation. After like 30 minutes my mind starts seeing belief flashes of vague images sometimes and once I even heard music. And all the while my mp3 is sounding off suggestions for lucid dreaming or hypnosis which ever.

Also around 30 mins I feel like there's hypertension in my legs or something and I begin to feel a desperate urge to move around. Other times it feels like my mind's just so damn tired and just wants to lie down and snooze. And then I just lay down and sleep or just open my eyes and move.

I've never fall asleep sitting up though. If I'm ever about to fall asleep my body lumps and I get jolted awake.
So what I want to do is to relax my mind as much as possible without changing my position or falling asleep.

Anyways, I just wanted to share that with you and hear what you guys think. Any comments, questions, suggestions?

Can't help you out here, I can tell you that I have the exact same thing (but I like, lie down rather than sit). When I set my alarm clock for like 6:00 all I think that time is "ugh..want..sleep", no matter how motivated I was the evening before.
It's weird. Let me know if you figure out anything.

      Good luck buddy.

You too huh? I get myself all pepped up the night before to wake up at like.. somewhere between 3 to 5 am so I can take advantage of the light trance state we're all in on the transition from sleep to wake or vice versa. And I haven’t been able to do it yet. Sleep is just too alluring. Zzzz...

But besides that, there is this thing I've been meaning to try out. In hypnosis there's this method thingy called fractionation.

For those not familiar, to fractionate is to put a subject into trance as deeply as possible and then wake him up and then put him as deeply into trance as possible again.

What happens is when this occurs repeatedly, the subject will go deeper into trance the next time. I've been thinking about doing this.. like a couple hundred times just to see if I can actually attain a significant increase in depth. It's just that... 30 mins x 100 = 3000 = 50 hours. Yeah… so you see… makes me kinda wish I was locked inside a bare room for a couple days or something. I'm just not focused enough...
